When summer rolls around down here in Florida it comes with inhuman heat and humidity, which only wreaks havoc on my hair (even after an hour in front of a hairdryer I still end up with frizzy hair)! So lately I’ve been air drying to camouflage the frizz and although I am not 100 percent sold on it, it’s easy to do. I use the hanna thermal protectant oil and Sally Hershberger Shagg Spray that I found for only $2.99 at Ross to get a piece-y look and it works great. Along with the big hair that I to call “beachy waves” I like to keep my outfits easy and comfy as well. I tend to keep my focus on tops because bottoms always consist of cut off shorts, a cotton mini or rolled up jeans. Every year I get on a new kick: last year I was all about asymmetrical tanks and this year it’s graphic tees. I got this one from Shopbop and although a little bit more than I usually pay for tee, it’s totally worth it! It’s got a roomy fit which is perfect for summer; the length makes it look like a perfectly worn-in mens tee and my favorite part is the length of the sleeves – its just long enought to be able to give it a nice roll if I’m in the mood too.

Cooler weather means I get to layer! My favorite piece to layer, and the easiest one, has always been my army green anorak from Ross (also seen here). I wear it every chance I get and believe it or not the army green color can be used as a neutral making it super easy to incorporate into many outfits. This time I decided to pair my anorak with my striped dress for a day time look that I easily dressed up by removing the jacket, adding animal print heels and turning belt around.

I’ve had this lightweight anorak from Marshall’s for about 3 years and every fall I pull it out and finds tons of new ways to wear it, I think it cost me only about $20 and this baby never goes out of style (it’s my “other denim jacket”). Check out what I wore it with below and similar options as well.

Happiness is walking into a store at the last minute before going out and finding exactly what you’re looking for…and that’s exactly what happened Saturday night. I frantically walked into Marshall’s looking for a peplum top and not only did I find it, but the details were perfect: The zipper down the back was amazing and the slighty puffed shoulder on the lace three quarter length sleeves was beyond cute. Best of all it was only $19.99! The peplum top is super flattering and I’m sure I can wear it with a few different outfits. This time I paired it with a simple purple skirt and Vince Camuto heels that I got at Dillards on sale, my entire outfit (excluding the bag and jewelry) was under $60! FYI I always carry a tote with me and this particular gold one from meet mark is my current favorite for carrying essentials like flats, makeup etc. for evenings.

Twisted Silver has done it once again… this time with their big and bold Aztec bracelet. I love how this bracelet is wide enough to be worn high-up on the wrist, giving it an edgier feel. It really is one of those bracelets that you can wear all summer long with EVERYTHING and not need another accessory. The Aztec bracelet is available now on
Love the simple and dainty Pixie Bracelet…the design dances between vintage and modern. It’s definitely a basic piece that can be worn year round and added to any other Twisted Silver favorite like their Rag Bracelet. Get your Pixie Bracelet

Time stopped when I received the latest and greatest creative design from Twisted Silver: The Time Necklace. And yes my heart even skipped a beat! The necklace is gorgeous on so many levels and my necklace reminded me of a finely crafted pocket watch with a feminine touch. As you can see from the picture below, the time Necklace is wrought from watch faces and artfully pounded with recycled vintage clip earring parts on a chunky chain with a giant raw metal toggle. And, because Twisted SIlver uses reclaimed parts, all of the watch faces are different and vary in size, shape and color (in other words, no two are alike!). Retails at $100 and available now at
