Celebrity Redo: Kate Bosworth

I’m sure Kate Bosworth could wear a paper bag and still look gorgeous, but this particular outfit (although cute and quirky) seemed to beg for a little “oomph!”  First step: I decided to stay within the same color family, but switch it up by adding a white crew neck sweater over a black button down ( I LOVE THAT COMBO!).  Next: The bulky bag wasn’t working for me, so I replaced it with a clutch.  Lastly,  I found a gorgeous bow back skirt, which really adds a lot of character to the outfit.  When it came down to the shoes and footless tights, I just went with it simply because I liked it (but the ensemble would look just as good without them).  Don’t forget, every piece in this outfit can be broken down and worn with just about anything in your closet: The skirt could be worn with a cropped blazer to work; the sweater with a pair of jeans for a casual luncheon, or the black button-down with a pair of black slacks for a chic evening get-together.

This is one of those outfits where it’s all in the details.  The crochet dress, fringed boots and the oversized coat blend together to create the perfet boho look with a razor sharp edge.  Maybe not Kate’s best ensemble, but she clearly looks fierce!  Get the look………..

Four Styles For This Fall

Picture A: Bohemian
Mixing patterns with colors will give you the unfinished bohemian look.  A flowing dress and chunky knit sweaters in deep colors are both cozy and flirty.  Add touches of rugged leather with bags or boots.

Picture B:Classic
The Fall season is a great time to punch-up classic styles with plaid. Using neutral colors like tan and gray will allow you to play with fun shaped pieces like a wrapped jacket.  The idea is to keep lines simple and unfussy.

Picture C:Gothic Feel
Black lace with a billowy shape gives an outfit that romantic yet rebellious look.
This Fall take advantage of all the sexy shoes out there like platforms, booties, and stiletto heels.
www.topshop.com has a lot of the key pieces to this look.

Picture D:Modern
Minimal pieces will give your outfit that modern edge.  Try streamed-lined silhouettes like a fitted jacket.  Because you are wearing fitted pieces with clean lines, try adding bold accessories.

Summer Chic

The Summer is not just about tanks and shorts anymore. Shorts can make an outfit sexy and laid back. The old ripped and torn look of jean shorts are long gone. Todays shorts are modern and versatile. Where them to the park and change your top for the evening, throw on a chic blouse with a pair of heels and voila…Summer chic. There is no excuse not to look chic in shorts. We have an enormous amount of options available to us. My favorite stores are Top Shop, H&M, and Nordstrom. These stores have all different types of styles and price ranges.
