Stylish Cravings: Modcloth’s Following Dreams Sweater

I love me a great layering piece like the following dreams sweater from Modcloth.  Perfect to drape over a pretty dress or jacket, layer under a jumper or blazer or even just slung around your hips.  I took one look at it and immediately knew that I would style it for a fun quirky fall look.  First I added a flirty a-line dress, must have suede booties, denim jacket and a cozy knit beret and convertible gloves. To finish off the look the following dreams sweater would be draped over the denim jacket with the adorable kittie tote at your side.

Follow Dreams Sweater  | A-Line Dress | Denim Jacket | Booties | Knit Beret | Convertible Gloves | Tote

Lots of great fall pieces that can be worn a ton of different ways in just one outfit.  For a dressier version you can easily add a sequin mini, tights and pumps or go casual with flared jeans, wedges and a blazer. Either way you can’t go wrong with this cute versatile sweater.

I love me a light weight kimono it has that Stevei Knicks boho vibe and they are perfect for the summer.  I have a few and I wear them all year round but the summer is when they get the most use.  Wear them as a swimsuit coverup, try it over a piar of hot pants and a tank, dress up your denim shorts or wear it over a plain white tee and leggings or over a maxi skirt or dress…the possibilites are endless and so fun to wear.  Check out some pretty kimonos and some outfit inspiration below .  I kept the prices fluid because I consider these an investment piece to wear over and over again.

Crotchet Kimono – $99 at Lulus.com

New Dawn Kimono Cape – $97 at Shopplanetblue.com

Bird Print Kimono – $127 at Zara.com

Black Motel Kimono – $100 at Motelrocks.com

I wear my sunglasses 365 days a year but If it were up to me I would wear them 24/7!  I have a ton of pairs but I always like to add a few new styles during the summer.  Right now I’m loving sunglasses with lots of details and hardware.  Below are some styles that I’ve been eyeing by Elizabeth and James.
Limited Edition Elizabeth & James Snow Leopard Sunglasses – These fun snow leopard print sunglasses have the perfect vintage chic look.
Elizabeth & James Wooster Sunglasses – A great selection of sunglasses for stylish vintage lovers.  I love the details like the metal in the bars against the shiny pearl pink.

Stylish Cravings: Hot Pants

I love me a pair of hot pants!  For the most part I wear them at night but during  the day I pair them over opaque tights. This summer I’m going to be brave and bare legged and go for the sexy look.  When I was little I saw tons of pictures of my mom rocking hot pants before she had kids and I never thought I could pull it off (she’s way tinier than me in every aspect).  She would either wear them with turtle necks and platforms and other times with a pretty blouse and boots – and she always managed to make it look classy and chic.  It’s a trend for the bold but if worn with the right pieces it can definitely be pulled off.  Check out some of my favorite outfits I’ve gathered for inspirations and some affordable options from Forever 21.

Tip: When looking for your pair of hot pants look for simple cuts and preferably solid colors.  High waisted are my favorite they are more forgiving and look more feminine.  The idea is to get a leggy look so if you want to go a tad longer in length, go higher in heels and you will get the same effect.
