Outfits Under $50

I’m always on the lookout for a good bargain.  Most of my scores are found at my favorite spots like Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx and Ross but I will shop anywhere at anytime as long as it has the right fit.  Lately I’ve been noticing that a lot of my outfits have been ranging from about $50-$100 so I decided to share my top 5 under $50 and next month $100. To start things off I decided to go with my latest buy a chambray top from Walmart.  I already have a bunch of chambray tops (one with polka dots, one with florals and a thick dark denim one that I sometimes use as a little jacket) so I wasn’t looking to buy more.  However, I walked by the  clearance rack at Walmart and spotted this light weight studded chambray top for $9 and I had to have it.  At $9 it’s got all the right details, a studded collar that I love, tab sleeves and the fabric is light enough to wear all year. Thinking it would be great to wear as a beach cover up… I have lots of plans for it but this time I wanted to pair it up with a mini and my brown sandals.  Not bad for an entire outfit under $50. 🙂

What I’m Wearing:

Chambray Top – $9 at Walmart

Mini Skirt – $7.99 at Ross
Sandals (also seen here) – $24.99 from a local boutique
Necklace – $5 from a Brooklyn boutique wish I could remember the name of the store
Clutch c/o meet mark
Bracelet c/o Twisted SIlver

Leopard Heels Three Ways

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw the pictures of me debating which pair of shoes to buy while out shopping at DSW. Well, I decided on the leopard print heels (like many of you suggested) and since the weather has finally begun to get a tad cooler down here in Florida and it was perfect timing for me to style my new favorite pair of shoes from DSW! I was so excited when I was offered the opportunity to not only choose a pair of shoes of my liking but to also style them three different ways for fall. Picking one pair was super hard because DSW has an enormous amount of shoes and boots to pick from, but I decided to step away from boots (my weakness) and instead go with these leopard heels  to give my fall outfits a sexy touch. The leopard print is a perfect addition to my fall outfits and I came up with so many looks I had a hard time picking just three.
My first look is perfect for a day of shopping. I kept it simple with boyfriend jeans and sweater but the heels made the outfit pop!

Leopard Heels Three Ways

For a date night look I went with all black. This outfit can easily be worn for a lot of my upcoming holiday events.

Leopard Heels Three Ways

In my third and favorite look I wore a long sleeve mini dress and an army green vest. It’s perfect for a casual weekend or even a casual day at work with some tights.

Leopard Heels Three Ways

How would you style these leopard print beauties for fall?

Lace Maternity Dress

I’ve been searching high and low for a dress to wear on New Year’s Eve and it hasn’t been the easiest task.  Sure they’re tons of cute maternity dresses but they never ever seem to fit me the way I want them to.  They’re always too lose at the bottom giving it a tent like look.  I understand the purpose of the fit and I’m all about the comfort but when it comes to just wanting to look and feel normal for one night and snap some pics it just doesn’t work for me.  In comes Pink Blush maternity who graciously sent me a beautiful burgundy lace dress that not only fits me perfectly but it also has three quarter sleeves, a flattering must and a good amount of stretch for comfort. I literally did the happy dance when I opened the package.  The burgundy color gives the affordable dress a luxurious look that would be perfect with any of my heels once I have the baby and can fit back into them.  Check it out below and make sure to check back next week where I will style the other adorable piece that they sent me.

Celebrity Copycat: Kourtney Kardashian’s Look for $100!

Loved Kourtney Kardashian’s on the go mom style!  Her outfits were sexy and comfortable, and they never looked like maternity/mom wear making her outfits perfect for anyone!  This particular look is a fave because it manages to pull together three key fall pieces: quilted leather, riding boots and the always classic stripes.

Striped Ruche Top – $13.99 | Quilted Faux Leather Jacket – $29.99 | Riding Boots – $29.99 but in store $19.99 if you’re a member | Leggings – $7.99 | Studded Hobo Bag – $37.80

I really cant pick a favorite piece this time i love them all. The striped tunic with ruching is super flattering, chic and only $13.99.  The quilted faux leather jacket is a total must have this season and only $29.99.  The riding boots are amazing and only $19.99 with loyal customer points, the hobo bag with metal details was on sale for $37.80, and the seamless leggings were $7.99.  The total was around $109 but with the points I had on my Sears cards the total came to $98!!  Another easy outfit to work into other pieces in your closet and can be worn right through winter all the way through spring.

Check out how I plan to wear the stripe tunic for day and night with some of the pieces from last weeks copycat.

I had so much fun recreating these outfits and I look forward to styling them post baby this spring. 🙂

Glasses: The Necessary Accessory

I can vividly remember the first time I was told that I needed glasses.  It was the day of my 17th birthday and after a brief moment of panic, I decided on giving myself the gift of a quirky Lisa Loeb makeover and set out to find the perfect pair glasses to go with my new look .  My first pair of glasses were a cat eye shaped pair by Armani and cost a whopping $400 (fortunately the purchase of glasses coincided with my getting a drivers license so my mom thankfully helped out). I wore them proudly for 2 years before I branched out and decided to try different styles to go with my outfits.  I loved the idea of wearing glasses and they became a integral part of my accessorizing.

Not much has changed since then – I still wear glasses – but my selection of frames has evolved over the years. Currently black frames are my go to pair and I accessorize around them.  Oftentimes glasses are the first thing that people notice, so why not make them fun and a extension of your personality!  Look for discount eyeglassesso that you can buy multiple pairs to play with. Below are two outfits for day and night that I built around  chic glasses.

Day

A classic pair of black nerdy chic frames will never go out of style and they are perfect to wear with just about anything. I paired them up with a leather jacket, jeans and booties for a edgier feel.

Night

These animal print frames are very similar to the ones I first had and I still love them!  I like the idea of these glasses dressed for a sexy studious look.  A midi length dress is the first thing I envisioned it with and of course red pumps….flawless!

Glasses no longer have a stigma…they’re stylish fun and sexy…now’s the time to flaunt them!

Dream Believe Achieve

When summer rolls around down here in Florida it comes with inhuman heat and humidity, which only wreaks havoc on my hair (even after an hour in front of a hairdryer I still end up with frizzy hair)!  So lately I’ve been air drying to camouflage the frizz and although I am not 100 percent sold on it, it’s easy to do. I use the hanna thermal protectant oil and Sally Hershberger Shagg Spray that I found for only $2.99 at Ross to get a piece-y look and it works great.  Along with the big hair that I to call “beachy waves” I like to keep my outfits easy and comfy as well.  I tend to keep my focus on tops because bottoms always consist of cut off shorts, a cotton mini or rolled up jeans.  Every year I get on a new kick: last year I was all about asymmetrical tanks and this year it’s graphic tees.   I got this one from Shopbop and although a little bit more than I usually pay for tee, it’s totally worth it!  It’s got a roomy fit which is perfect for summer; the length makes it look like a perfectly worn-in mens tee and my favorite part is the length of the sleeves – its just long enought to be able to give it a nice roll if I’m in the mood too.

High-Low Floral Top

For the past  week or so the temp here in Florida has been in the 90’s, but luckily we got a short break from the heat and humidity and it’s an easy breezy 80 outside.  What does sthat mean for me?  For one, it’s the chance to wear something other than shorts and a tank!  I originally bought this floral high-low top to wear  over a white mini dress, but I pulled out my “skinny” skinny jeans and they actually fit…I was so excited that I threw them on instead.

What I’m Wearing:

High-Low Floral Top – $14.99 at Ross

Skinny Jeans – $29.99 at American Eagle

Comfy Tee & White Blazer

I love me a comfy worn in tee!  I snag the unstained ones from my husbands draw and cut off the collar to give it a off the shoulder look.  Normally I switch out of them when I’m going out but my latest tee is sort of a obsession and I wanted to work it into a outfit. I immediately thought of a Chloe Sevigny Copycat I did a few years back and decided to use my white blazer. I love the fresh look the white blazer gives the tee and denim shorts!

What I’m Wearing:

White Blazer – $39 from Tobi.com

Distressed Denim Shorts – $19.99 from American Eagle

Sandals – $24.99 from a local boutique

Bag – $24.99 from T.J. Maxx

Kardashian Kollection Chain Print Dress

Love this Kardahian Kollection dress from Sears!  It was originally $54.99 but it was 30% off so I got it for only $34.99.  I was planning on wearing it without the cardigan and with wedges but I was freezing so I wore it with my cardigan and booties.   I’m pretty sure I’m going to be wearing this dress a lot!  The chain print gives it a expensive look but the fit keeps it flirty and fun. Next time I’m going to try it with leggings and a denim jacket. 🙂

What I’m Wearing:

Wrap Sundress – $34.99 at Sears

Fringed Booties – $11.99 at Sears

Sunglasses $12.50 at Old Navy

Purple & Polka Dots

I’m not a huge fan of purple but when I caught a glimpse of the $5 price tag on this dress, I immediately yanked it off the rack.  It was then that I noticed the flecks of sparkle and the POCKETS.  I was in love!  My immediate thought was to pair it with my denim jacket but I thought I’d give it a quirky look by layering it over a polka dot button down and of course a belt (I try to belt just about anything I wear – it’s kinda my thing).   I love the definition and personality the belt gives my outfits.
