Chart topping R&B act Ne-Yo is set to star, produce and write the soundtrack for Fox’s Atomic’s “Venice Beach.”  Duane Adler who wrote “Save The Last Dance” and “Step Up” both in which Ne-Yo appeared will be writing the script.   Paul Hunter who is best known for directing music videos for Eminem, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears is set to direct the film.  “Venice”  centers on an 18-year-old Manhattan Beach woman who, after her talented older sister dies in a car accident, represses her own singing talent until she meets a gifted musician-singer (Ne-Yo) from Venice Beach. What starts as a budding romance between the two turns into a quest for a musical career, which is met with resistance from his friends and her family.

Green Day Working With Nirvana Producer

Green Day are working on new material with former Nirvana producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig, according to Vig’s bandmate Shirley Manson.

Manson confirmed that Vig was working with the band in an interview on ‘MTV’s Last Call With Carson Daly’.

MySpace Music Launches

Service is live in the US and coming to the UK soon

MySpace Music, the new music service from the social networking site, launched in the USA last night (September 24) and will launch in the UK soon. The new service allows artists to upload their entire back catalogues onto their MySpace profiles for streaming. Users, meanwhile, can post up to ten songs on their own profiles for visitors to listen to, and up to 100 for personal listening.
