What I Wore On Mother’s Day

Dressing your post baby body can be a bit overwhelming but dressing up and standing in front of the camera in a outfit is just down right traumatic! I’ve made a pact with myself I’m forcing myself in front of the camera and wearing items that are already sitting in my closet (with the help of lots and of layers of spanx lol) in the hopes that it will motivate me away from my laptop and onto to the treadmill. I dont want to lose too much I just want to get rid of the belly my biggest pet peeve when getting dressed.  This specific dress that I bought for 5 bucks at Marshalls has some pleating in the front which helps conceal the pooch.  I decided to wear it for Mother’s Day when I realized that it fit me.  It was a tad big on me before and now it fits me perfectly…. talk about taking the good with the bad! I love the dress but hate that it fits. 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hope all of you stylish mamas out there are having a fabulous Mothers Day! The lovely people over at Famous Footwear’s new blog asked me to share my mothers favorite quote and how she inspired me throughout my life. Check out a snippet of it below and click here to see entire post.

This Mother’s Day, I’d like reflect on the inspiration and encouragement my mom has given me throughout my life. Much of my drive comes from her, and she’s a woman that gets things done! She tackles things head on without thinking twice. Her energy has always amazed me. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I soldier on with a mental image of my mom doing a million things at once with a smile on her face.

Cuffs & Stuff

I’ve been stacking different types of bangles on my right wrist for as long as I can remember.  The routine is simple: I get dressed, grab a handful of bangles, slide them on and away I go.   But not long ago one of my boys found two leather bracelets while digging through my jewelry and strapped them on my wrist (my little boys are fascinated with the amount of jewelry and shoes I have).

Anyway, I have yet to take them off…I even sleep with them…and now I just pile on cuffs, watches and other leather bracelets that I’ve had for ages but never even worn.  I know this going to sound a bit eccentric but I’ve never liked the way new jewelry, shoes (more boots and sandals) or bags look so most of the time they don’t become a favorite they’re all worn in – which is why I love the leather bracelets so much.  When you pair a somewhat masculine piece to your accessories it has a “I don’t care” accidental style. And that’s what accessorizing is all about.  Check out some pieces below that would perfect for a stylish mom this Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s day is about celebrating the special lady in your life who has given you so much and has taken care of you when you most needed it. So, you should aim to find something extra special to give her on this day of appreciation; this year the UK celebrates Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th March and we are going to take a look at what gifts you could buy to symbolise how important your Mum is to you.

Jewellery is a great present to show someone you care, and the Mother’s Day Pandora selection from John Greed Jewellery is perfect for this, as it offers you the opportunity to build a personal collection over time, and represents the story of her life so far.

Mums are such a key figure when you’re growing up and you can always count on them for some great advice – even when you’ve flown the nest! Due to this immense amount of love, it is often hard to find the perfect gift that really shows how grateful you are; Pandora charms are a lovely way to commemorate this cherished bond.

Mother and Daughter Charm – £65

If you and your Mum share a love for Pandora, this charm will be perfect for the both of you! It shows the unbreakable bond and every time she catches a glimpse of this charm, you will always be in her heart.

With its striking red enamel centre, inside of a beautifully crafted textured silver heart, the charm comes in two halves, ‘mother’ and ‘daughter’, which when joined together, create a gorgeous love heart.

So, even if you are not always together, you can still remind yourself of the special connection between you.

Pandora First Bracelet – £99

If your Mum doesn’t have a charm bracelet yet, you could choose this brilliant starter piece! It’s a great opportunity to create a truly unique present that evolves over time. Charm bracelets allow the wearer to tell their own story through charms, with each one representing a special moment or memory.

This Pandora Pink Dream bracelet is great value for money as it provides everything she will need to get started when building her collection of Pandora and features a gorgeous pink Murano glass charm and two elegant clips

Family Love Charm – £35

This charm celebrates the strong family bond that you share. Beautifully crafted, this polished silver charm is engraved with ‘Family’ on one side and ‘Love’ on the other.

Complete with cute little faces to represent the ones that surround her with love, it is sure to make your Mum smile this Mother’s Day and remind her of what a wonderful lady she is.

Silver and Gold Teddy Heart Charm Set – £120

This stunning charm set symbolises the love and gratitude for the most important woman in your life. The gift contains a limited edition silver teddy bear with its 14ct gold heart, a gorgeous pink and white heart Murano glass charm and a beautifully crafted silver embossed heart charm.

Show just how much you care with these delightful little charms, and celebrate everything she means to you, reminding her of the loving connection between mother and child.

The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift!

There are tons of gift ideas out there for this Mother’s Day, but my favourite gift is the one that keeps coming even after Mother’s Day is over…magazine subscriptions!  I’m a magazine junkie and I personally subscribe to a bunch (like a kid, I still get excited when I find my magazines sitting in the mail box after a long day at work).  One of my favourite past times is kicking my feet up, grabbing a glass of wine and cracking open this month’s freshly printed magazine.  Best of all, we live in a time where there are literally hundreds of different magazines covering every possible topic and category out there (whether food, style, fitness or new mum advice).  And CLEO Australia has one of the internet’s most diverse selections… check out some of my favourite below.

For The Stylish Mum:

Shop Til You Drop is the ultimate modern girls guide to online shopping and its focus is entirely on shopping smart.  What mum wouldn’t love that!  It mixes high-low fashion, beauty shopping and even top pharmacy picks all in one magazine.

For The Beauty Lover:

Allure is well known as the beauty expert and its pro’s cover a wide range of topics from celebrity tips, new product reviews and insider secrets.

For the Celebrity Obsessed:

I love me my celebrity gossip and OK! Magazine always covers my favourite celebrities from around the world.   Featuring exclusive interviews and personal revelations from celebrities, OK! Magazine is most well-known for its coverage of celebrity weddings, like David and Victoria Beckham’s.

The Expecting Mum:

Mother and Baby magazine was my go-to magazine when I was pregnant.  It’s choc full of info (from a huge panel of experts) that every expectant mum needs. Including fashion tips!

For The Foodie:

Recipe+ is the definitive magazine for mums on a budget!  Fabulous meal ideas and tons of inspiration for vegetarian dishes, beautiful desserts, kids snacks…all at affordable prices!

For the Fitness Mum:

Good Health is one of my personal fave’s.  Articles cover everything from weight loss, workouts, diet and nutrition, food and recipes, to health and beauty.  The inspirational articles are my favourite and it’s a great cover to cover read that you’ll want to keep for reference like I do with all of mine.

The list is endless, the options never ending and sure to bring a smile to any mum on Mother’s Day!  Best of all, it only take a few minutes to order instantly online (not to mention the price breaks!).
