If there’s one thing I’ve learned this pregnancy it’s that a maxi dress is your best friend. I’ve always worn them but never have I appreciated them as much as I have these past couple of months. Besides being the comfiest thing to wear in between sizes, they’re SO versatile and great for post baby as well. This one from meet mark has been sitting in my closet forever because it was too big but now it’s a real life saver. I LOVE the blue and its lace cap sleeves. I’ve worn it a ton of times in so many different ways for day and night. For day I wear it with my green anorak, chain link necklace and my one of my favorite lucky brand bag (which comes in handy to when switching out heels for flats when your feet can’t take it anymore). For night, I just added a sparkly necklace, metallic satchel and took off the jacket.
What I’m Wearing: Blue Maxi Dress c/o
Head to toe perfection! I love how Rhianna paired a sexy cropped top with her distressed boyfriend jeans and then added metallic heels and clutch – so girly girl yet edgy – LOVE it! For those who want a more reserved version of this look check out the look beneath the copycat. These are pieces that can be worn a ton of different ways. The top can be paired with a pencil skirt for a classier look, the jeans can be worn with a blazer, tank and flats for day and the metallic heels can be worn with just about anything.
Anything metallic instantly looks more speical and stands out – especially a metallic mini skirt. Despite what you might think, a metallic mini can be worked into your wardrobe for day wear, and be used just as often as a pair of colored skinny jeans. What I love about a metallic mini is that it does all the work. Sure, you can dress it up even more with accessories and heels, but for the most part it’ll make pieces like a denim shirt, or a simple tee look extra sleek and edgy. Tip: give the heels a break! Try pairing with sandals or casual sneaks for an eclectic daytime look.
You really cant wrong with sequins – whether it’s for a prom or just a fun night out – they instantly give off a magical, princess-like vibe that dominated the Spring 2013 runways and will never go out of style. One of my favorite stars that’s the perfect example off how magical sequins can make you look and feel is Taylor Swift. With her trademark ruby red lips, she’s rocked the sequins on many red carpets and always looks flawless! Tip: For a little more glamour and edge, add metallic heels (another huge trend) and a black clutch… and keep the jewelry simple! The dress will do all the work.
