Bradley Cooper's Look for Less

I wanted to take a quick break from all the winter styles and pull out a Bradley Copper look that’s perfect for spring. Bradley’s outfit has got the perfect mix of classic and preppy that’s always pops back for men’s spring looks. It’s easy to recreate for less but in this case it’s well worth investing in these pieces because you can wear them over and over again. Below we show you how to get his look and how to use the pieces in different ways.

Pharrell's Look for Less

I love Pharrell’s quirky style and I love it even more when he puts a classic sleek spin on it. What I like about this outfit is how he gave the trench a slight street vibe with the low slung jeans and then mixed in the brown belt. I pulled together some key pieces to get Pharrells look thats perfect for a casual day at work.

Stylish Spring Picks For The Family

When it comes to online shopping (and I do most of my shopping online) I look for stores that have variety.  Especially at the begining of a new season where I like to buy  basic stylish pieces  that I can mix into my wardrobe.  Being a busy working mom I also look for stores that have something for the whole family to save time and money on shipping.  Stores like psyche.co.uk make it a cinch to do just that. You can easily shop by category, price, size or even trends!   With over 150 designer brands like Michael Kors, Barbour and Marc Jacobs to name just a few, there’s something for everyone regardless of style, size or budget.  And customers ordering outside the European Union get a 20% discount on their order, which is a biggie for me.  Established in 1982, Psyche has received recognition on an international stage, attracting the attention of fashion industry heavyweights in both the UK and  in Tokyo, Singapore and New York, including many parts of Europe.  Psyche aims to please the customer and make online shopping a pleasure so I can only imagine that in store shopping is equally enjoyable.  Check out some of my favorite spring picks below for the entire family.

I was immediately impressed by their vast selection: The tops range from dressy blouses with chic prints that are easy to wear for between weather like spring  (see below),  to trendy tees and preppy polos (and their jeans selection was just as impressive). Their shoe selection was equally diverse carrying shoes from affordable lines like Chinese Laundry to Ted Baker (I absolutely love the Ted Baker selection).   In this particular outfit I chose a light star print blouse, a faux fur jacket that I LOVE and gray jeans to create an effortless look that you can wear day or night.

Paul Smith Star Print Shirt – $62.39 | J Brand Skinny Jeans – $119.14  | Faux Fur Cropped Jacket – $59 | Paul Smith Cross Body Bag – $559 | Ted Baker Bow Heels – $124.80

The men selection was equally on par and just as fashionable.  I find that some online stores tend to stick to men’s basics and that’s not the case with Psyche.  Their men’s knitwear  and dressier shoes definitely stood out.  This outfit was totally inspired by my two teenagers.  They wear a pair of khaki’s, a button down and a light pullover nearly everyday.  I chose a white sweater because it gives the basic khaki’s a crisp clean feel and the polka dots provide a little flair.  Love it!

Hugo Boss Polka Dot Shirt – $143.71 | Armani Crew Neck Sweater – $137.41 | Ralph Lauren Khaki’s – $83.71 | J Shoes Brogues – $143.71 | Navy Nixon – $545

With spring comes rain and what makes rainy days a little more fun?  An adorable pair of kids Hunter boots!

The Stylist Manifesto: First Day Of Class

If you’ve been following my Instagram lately (@stylstmanifesto) or my blog (despite my sporadic writing schedule), you’ll notice I tend to mix eras. Often this is done by seamlessly blending modern pieces with those of a vintage aesthetic. This ensemble was n exception. The driver’s cap is reminiscent of 1950’s California as are the tie and cardigan. The faint striping of said sweater contrasts the subtle striping of the tie and the almost indistinguishable black ticking of the jacket. For a bit of complication, a multi-check patterned button down peeks from beneath the cardigan and is interrupted by the aforementioned vintage tie. Then I selected Japanese tailored denim by gap with a classic Brando/Dean cuff. Finally, as two complimentary garnishes, I chose the super limited (released 2012 and sold out everywhere) Clot X G-shock Translucent Red watch.  As the blue and red palettes are always complimentary, the choice was obvious. 🙂

Sweater Vest Styled Three Ways

December 15, 2011 by
Filed under Boys on the Side

This month’s three way features a sweater vest.  Love the unfinished preppy look that a classic sweater vest brings;  especially in bright colors.  The key to pulling off this look is not to put too much thought into it.  To look stylish, it has to look effortless. And avoid wearing corduroy (it’s cliched and you run the risk of looking like Chandler from Friends! ).  Instead of your basic blazer,  pair a colorful sweater vest and a striped shirt with slacks and I guarantee you’ll turn a few heads at the office. For a cozy-cool look,  pair a sweater vest with your favorite jeans and a plain white tee.  For a tougher more quirky vibe,  wear it over a hoodie,  twist on a scarf and throw on a pair of boots.  Tell me what do you think of the sweater vest… yay or nay?
