I have hundreds of pair of shoes! I’m such a shoe freak that if I happen to find shoes that I absolutely love, I buy multiple pairs. My particular weakness has always been boots – whether high heeled boots, riding boots, or even cowboy boots – because they make any outfit ooze the perfect rough and tumble vibe. To say that I was super excited to not only work with DSW again (you can see my last post here) but also be sent two pair of boots of my choice would be an understatement!
Picking a pair of boots that I liked was easy; narrowing it down to two was a little tough because DSW has an enormous selection of styles. I wanted a little bit of a challenge, so I chose two completely different looks. For my first pick, I went with a pair of high heel boots. I loved the fact that they had the perfect combo of sexy with its sky-high heels but also edgy with a buckle, quilt and rubber soles. The details are definitely on point! When I first put them on I was a little skeptical about the heel being SO high. I’m pretty comfortable in heels but sometimes they can be slippery and hard to walk in – that was not the case with these boots. The rubber soles kept them solid and the platform made them comfy and easy to walk in.
I decided to pair the booties with a little black dress, tights to add warmth and texture and a favorite oversized cardigan for a cozy touch. This is something I would wear on a chilly night out to dinner with the girls or even on a date night. It’s super comfy, stylish and sexy. Stay tuned to see my next pair of boots and how I styled them!

The winner of the horse bit bracelet is – Neiddy with the comment The Silver and Red Womens Leather Cuff Bracelet, Snakeskin on Cow Leather is my favorite one. Congratulations!
If you know me then you know I’m a accessory addict (especially bracelets) who love’s a a great look for less! Among the tons and tons of jewelry that I own, the one’s that get the most wear are usually the one’s that have a bold edgy feel. During my pregnancy I haven’t really been adding to my accessories so I was super excited when Meg from Margaret Vera offered to giveaway a gorgeous eco-friendly horse bit leather bracelet– I love love love it!
Margaret Vera is made up of two creative souls Meg and her brother. They design and create accessories for the bohemian soul (like me) and all of their designs have the perfect mix of tough yet chic, rustic, and delicate – it’s a beautiful madness of rugged and soft. Their best selling horse bit bracelet is made from recycled leather and comes in gold or silver with either a brown or belt leather band it looks like it cost 3 times more than the $36 price tag. Perfect classic piece to wear with a chunky watch or dainty bangles. I also loved how beautifully it fit. As recommended I measure my wrist and the bracelet fits perfectly! It will instantly become a favorite!!
Meg has even offered to give one lucky reader the opportunity to win a custom bracelet for themselves! Simply visit Margaret Vera pick a favorite, return back to fashiongrail and tell us which is your favorite and what you’d wear it with (make sure you provide url in the comment). Zac Posen, a well known designer to stars like Eva Longoria and Rhianna just to name a few, will be taking his designing skills down a different path – he is designing wedding dresses for every brides favorite store – David’s Bridal. The collection is affordable but certainly does not lack any designer details like the tulle ball gown, soft chantilly dress and my favorite detail the corset fit. To me, corsets take the dress to another level by giving it that empowering, sexy feel. Most dresses are in your traditional white, off-white bridal hues but the collection also has a few choices in black, taupe and even navy giving them both a edgy sexy feel.
In addition to the designer for less dresses, Zac’s collection will also have equally stunning accessories (my favorite part of any outfit). Each piece is less than $150 but look like family heirlooms. I especially love the retro looking Crystal Leaf headband and the romantic Russian Tulle Blusher of which both would look perfect with any of the dresses. The accessories can easily be worn for other special occasions giving you even more bang for your buck. When you combine the fabulous accessories with any of the dresses from Zac’s collection you get a glamorous luxurious look for your special day at realistic prices – you can’t beat that!
I truly do love seeing all these amazing designer collections that David Bridals continues to bring at amazing prices! They make every brides fairy tale wedding that more possible. Makes me wish I was planning a wedding for myself. Check out the video of his collection below and check out some my personal favorites as well.

Jasmine’s fashion mantra is “when in doubt, wear all black.” Although agreeable, what about the day when you will be wearing all white? Celebrities have shown us the right and wrong ways to sport a wedding dress – they face the scrutiny of the public and potentially the harsh words of Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. Below are some of the fashionistas that have received positive remarks and made their own wedding dress iconic.
Kate Middleton looked absolutely breathtaking in this one-of-a-kind Alexander McQueen wedding gown designed just for her. Although there have been rumors floating around about the cost, no reliable details have surfaced. We do know, of course, that the price tag is pretty heft. With the dress on the right, you get an identical silhouette and neckline to Kate’s dress but at just a fraction of the price on Wedding Dress Bee for $378.98 – a great alternative for anyone looking to redo this classic look.
If you’ve seen the Sex and the City movie, there is no way you could forget this stunning dress Carrie Bradshaw wore on her wedding day. We all gasped in delight when the gown was sent to her front door from the designer herself, Vivienne Westwood. The dramatic neckline and full skirt make this unique piece a must-have for any daring bride. If you don’t have the budget to afford the $17,000+ Westwood original, opt for the dress on the right by Sarah Danielle for $1,125.
Although Kim Kardashian’s marriage to Kris Humphries was short-lived, her wedding day was nothing short of elegance and beauty. Her gown, created by bridal fashion designer Vera Wang, had a mermaid silhouette that hugged Kim’s curves and gave the right amount of drama with a dramatic layered skirt. Similarly on the right for $999.99, Vera Wang recreated the Kardashian dress for her affordable White by Vera Wang collection at David’s Bridal.
Styling yourself on your wedding day can be overwhelming and a little bit of a hassle. Taking some fashion pointers from celebrities that have done it right when exchanging their nuptials can lessen the amount of worry and time spent planning. Do a little bit of searching for the perfect celebrity-inspired look that really speaks to you and go from there!
Monica Nolan has been a bridal fashion guru for many years and she prides herself on helping women find their dream wedding dress for less.
The hefty price tags touted by the couture creations and exquisite ensembles of high-end designers make them fiscal fantasies for even the most style-obsessed fashionista. There was a time when just one insanely covetable item from Marchesa or Philip Lim would mean forgoing food and rent for the foreseeable future. Then, like an answer to a posh prayer, came the brilliant idea known as the “diffusion line.” Most commonly this is when a top-tier designer pairs with a middle-market retailer to create an affordable, yet still visionary, capsule collection – thereby saving you from the fate of becoming a hopelessly chic homeless person. These fab collabs have been gaining popularity over the last few years, resulting in a treasure trove of quality garments for the discerning dresser on a budget. Read on to discover the cream of the current crop of these trendsetting teams, just be prepared to shop til you drop – with enough capital leftover to accessorize.
White by Vera Wang at David’s Bridal. Nothing says “I’m going to live the rest of my life in happily wedded bliss” like floating down the aisle in a creation crafted by the queen of nuptials herself. The amazing news is that now you can make that fantasy a reality by choosing one of the divine frocks from Ms. Wang’s diffusion line. This season’s collection was inspired by the, sigh, glamour of Old Hollywood. Modestly priced between $728 and $1,348, it is impossible to not fall head over heels for one of these enchanting, elegant, affairs. Plus, she designs for the wedding party as well. Need we say more?
2. 3.1 Philip Lim for Target. The buzz about this cult designer’s collection for Target has grown into a collective roar with its recent release – and it’s well deserved. The bags alone are worth the hype. Full of sophisticated floral prints, skinny trousers and sparkly, fête-ready frocks, the line has caused a veritable stampede at some Target locations. With sleek looks to take you from a.m. to after-party, this is one dream team-up not to miss.
3. RACHEL by Rachel Roy for Macy’s. This elegant designer brings the class-with-an-edge attitude that makes her namesake line so covetable to her diffusion line. Her most recent creations include military-inspired pea coats, printed suits and feminine animal print dresses paired with motorcycle jackets. It’s a one-stop shop for wardrobe basics and of-the-moment trend pieces.
Catherine Malandrino for Kohl’s. Malandrino is the most recent elite designer to create a limited-edition collection for Kohl’s DesigNation, and her accessible-yet-chic looks are the best yet. The romantic, Paris-inspired line is full of graphic, black and white pairings and intricately beaded shift-dresses. Be sure to stock up on the perfectly styled lace-print tops and frocks – ideal for date night or a swanky holiday soiree.

Truly by Zac Posen for David’s Bridal. Although the line isn’t set to debut until 2014, it will be worth the wait – if Posen’s gowns are anything like his red carpet creations, they will be magical. The illustrious designer’s foray into affordable wedding-wear is bound to be both a commercial and critical success. Boldly sophisticated, sexy and distinctively glamorous, Posen’s design aesthetic lends itself perfectly to bridal gowns. The creations promise to be couture quality at a price that won’t break your budget.
You can now shop T.J. Maxx online….enough said! The popular store known for its designer brands for way less has a new e-store www.tjmaxx.com that’s broken down into: Just In, Women, Shoes, Handbags and the Runway categories. The selection is pretty impressive with TONS of bags, shoes and a vast array of dresses. I don’t normally shop stores like these online but I’m liking the fact that a lot of the brands that are hard to find in my local stores are easily available online. Great for shopping for Christmas 🙂 Check out some of my favorite pieces below.
After going to 3 different Target stores I finally found the bag I was looking for: the Phillip Lim large tote bag. I also wanted to buy the sparkle sweater but they only had a extra small so I decided to check online and They did have it in my size but I decided to buy the medium brown satchelinstead. While at Target I also took a peek at their maternity section and bought the BeBand. I’ve been meaning to buy one these bands for a couple of weeks but I never got around to it till today. This little band is amazing and now I can wear ALL of my favorites jeans, shorts and tops that are starting to get a bit short. It’s a lifesaver. I will be posting some outfit pics and how the band actually works soon. Did you score your favorite Phillip Lim for Target piece?
