A little black dress is a closet staple but a little black dress that’s also a skirt and minimizes my waist and midriff is just genius! When I first got the Sassybax Convert-A-Skirt I immediately worried that it was going to be one of those suffocating fabrics – but it’s not. Sure it’s snug, but just snug enough to slim all the right spots. The more you play around with it the better it looks and what totally had me hooked was how when I realized that it held up the “little girls” and we all know that’s not an easy task. I wouldn’t say I would be able to go braless in it BUT any strapless bra would do (unlike other strapless dresses without support where I have to search high and low for maximum support). I’m obsessed with this dress! The fabric is a matte black making it super easy to dress up or down. It stays put which is important for me because I plan on wearing it on the dance floor and it’s machine washable. I could go son and on! It’s the perfect dress to pack on any vacation, for a night out on the town or under a blazer for a sexy office look. For more info on Sassybax’s Convert A Skirt visit

I have hundreds of pair of shoes! I’m such a shoe freak that if I happen to find shoes that I absolutely love, I buy multiple pairs. My particular weakness has always been boots – whether high heeled boots, riding boots, or even cowboy boots – because they make any outfit ooze the perfect rough and tumble vibe. To say that I was super excited to not only work with DSW again (you can see my last post here) but also be sent two pair of boots of my choice would be an understatement!
Picking a pair of boots that I liked was easy; narrowing it down to two was a little tough because DSW has an enormous selection of styles. I wanted a little bit of a challenge, so I chose two completely different looks. For my first pick, I went with a pair of high heel boots. I loved the fact that they had the perfect combo of sexy with its sky-high heels but also edgy with a buckle, quilt and rubber soles. The details are definitely on point! When I first put them on I was a little skeptical about the heel being SO high. I’m pretty comfortable in heels but sometimes they can be slippery and hard to walk in – that was not the case with these boots. The rubber soles kept them solid and the platform made them comfy and easy to walk in.
I decided to pair the booties with a little black dress, tights to add warmth and texture and a favorite oversized cardigan for a cozy touch. This is something I would wear on a chilly night out to dinner with the girls or even on a date night. It’s super comfy, stylish and sexy. Stay tuned to see my next pair of boots and how I styled them!

Next time you want to throw on a little black dress, why not give Christy Thieggen’s outfit a try! I love how she balanced out her sexy sheer top with a demure midi skirt when she could have gone with a short or tight skirt. It’s flawless! Tip: looking for a more conservative version of this outfit? Simply wear a camisole under a sheer top.
Update: The winner of the “Nantucket” dress from Shabby Apple is Christy with the following comment ” I would wear this to my christmas party.” Congratulations Christy and a big thank you to all who participated!

Jessica Alba’s lighter hair definitely gives her a more vibrant look, but I think her outfit ages her a bit. I decided to swap out her high waisted straight legs with flared jeans for a more fun look. I also replaced the white button down with a simple white tank for a more airy feel and wrapped it up with a cropped jacket. I even decided to switch out Jessica’s leopard print bag (it’s just not my style). Lastly, to balance out the flared jeans, I threw in a pair of t strapped platforms. The overall outfit is a bit pricey but each piece is extremely versatile (examples below). Hope you like it!
In 1926 Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress (aka the LBD) making it the must have for any woman’s wardrobe. It’s the answer to every fashion dilemma. The LBD can be dressed up (pearls, heels) or down (shrug, flats or even flip flops) and they don’t have to cost you a fortune. Check out these fabulous LBD’s for under $100!

So here’s the scenario: You’ve got a meeting with your boss on the same day as a dinner date with “Mr. Big.” They’re both important, but each requires a different look to get what you want. Knowing you don’t have enough time to come home and change, what do you do? Here are some tips on how to walk into work looking professional and walk out of work ready to flirt:
· If you have a little black dress (which you should), wear it. If it’s a little too revealing throw a suit jacket over it with a thin belt at the waistline. ·
If the dress is modest, a pashmina shawl or a cropped cardigan will do the trick. Put on a strand of pearls or some type of long necklace and there you have it sexy yet… professional.
· If you choose to wear your full suit, try a camisole, wrap top, or even a tasteful halter-top underneath it. A scarf can help cover areas where needed and at the end of the day you can just tie it to your purse. It’ll look “accidentally cool.” · In your bag pack a few necessities like a clutch, sling back stilettos (unless you’re already wearing them to work), a makeup bag to refresh and add some lipstick, smudgy eyeliner and lots of mascara. You can even pack a sexy pencil skirt to add to the top if you wore your full suit. And last but not least a change of jewelry. I’m a big fan of hoops, chunky rings and bangles; but if simplicity is your thing…go with it.
This along with your favorite cocktail and you’re good to go!
