Celebrity Copycat: Olivia Palermo’s Look for Less!

Even in a heat wave Olivia Palermo manages to look chic!  I like that she paired her flirty dress with ballerina flats instead of sandals to keep the outfit polished. All of Olivia’s outfits are easy to wear whether day or night just like this one – simply swap out flats for sexy heels, swipe on some red lipstick and add a black blazer for cooler nights.

Spring Dresses

Besides my kids excitement for Easter egg hunts and candy filled baskets, I always try to fit in a little Easter outfit shopping for myself.  The kids generally stick to the traditional themed attire for the day, but for me the Easter outfit consists of a functional dress that allows me look stylish while also participating in the egg hunt and other festivities.  I also try to pick a dress that can be worn all through spring and preferably even summer.  This Easter I’ll be wearing a lace shift dress and flats to keep me comfy all day! Check out some of the pretty spring dresses from Target below that are perfect for Easter.

A dainty lace dress similar to the one I’m wearing above is feminine enough for day or night.

Lace Bodice Dress – $49.99 | Blue Handbag – $19.99 | Pointy Toe Flats – $29.99

This seersucker dress screams spring and is pretty much a no brainer.  It’s sort of a grown up version of a little girls Easter outfits.  🙂 Wear with a light cardigan and pumps for a traditonal spring look.

Sleeveless Seersucker Dress – $29.99 | Quilted Chain Cross Body – $16.99 | Pointy Toe Heels – $29.99

Any dress with pockets is alright with me!  This floral dress for only $24.99 is one of those dresses that can be worn all year round.  It can be paired with a pair of wedges on Easter morning or a blazer and tights for work.

Floral Dress With Pockets – $24.99 | Wedges – $29.99 | Red Satchel – $32.99

A tulip wrap dress with a retro floral print plus a denim jacket is flawless!  Pair with bright heels for a sexy vibe.

Floral Tulip Dress – $25 | Denim Jacket – $29.99 | Strappy Heels – $29.99

Get a celeb worthy look like Naomi Watts’ with this white shift dress.  Shift dresses are so flattering and never ever go out of style.

Target Style Series: How to Layer Your Look

When temps start to drop, it’s all about the layering to me – It’s such a simple yet fabulous way to add depth and character to ANYTHING!  The key to layering is keeping the look effortless yet polished while always shooting for the lightest fabric possible to avoid looking bulky. Below are some of my favorite tricks for layering:

Lace Dress – $24.99 | Plaid Blouse – $17.99 | Hooded jacket – $17.48 | Leggings – $8 | Merona Ballerina Flats – $19.99 | Glitter Belt – $12.99

Vest, scarves, leggings and short dresses that can be belted and used as tunics are my personal must-haves for layering.

Suede Top – $16.99 | Polo – $13 | Bomber Jacket – $39.99 | Merona Tailored Ankle Pants – $27.99 | | Merona Moccasin – $24.99 | Merona Satchel – $29.99 | Houndstooth Scarf – $9

If you’re layering a bulkier peice let it be the one that goes on last, like the jacket pictured here.

Striped Henley – $12 | Long Lean Tank – $6 | Denim Vest – $27.99 | Leggings – $8 | Boots – $34.99 | Satchel – $29.99

The longest peice always goes under the layer. Tanks (especially striped ones), polos and tees are the best choice.

The idea is to have fun and not put too much thought into layered looks.  See how the Target Fall Collection is designed to take you through a season of stylish looks at Target.com/Merona.

Love Brooklyn Decker’s perfect mix of a classic white dress and casual army green vest… it’s a great day-to-night outfit. Tons of style without being too trendy (which means you’ll get a lot of mileage out of each figure-flattering piece).  Tip: These pieces are easy to transition from warm to cool weather by simply adding dark tights, like Zooey Deschanel exemplifies.  The cardigan and vest are a no-brainer… wear it over any basic for a effortlessly cool vibe.

One Forever21 Floral Cutout Shift Dress, 3 Different Looks

The following is a guest post by Sydne from thinkthrufashion:

Picture 27This cotton floral cutout shift dress was one of those Forever 21 finds that I could not believe was under 30 bucks. Doesn’t it look more like it cost $100? So even though it was a tad big on me I had to have it. I actually like the looser fit for summer since it keeps me cool. I wore look #1 to work recently and got beaucoup compliments but my favorite way to wear this dress is how I styled it in look #2. The shapeless fit and the statement necklace have a retro 60s vibe.

1. Forever 21 cardigan, Ann Taylor belt, vintage brooch, Forever 21 studded sandals
2. Forever 21 necklace, lia sophia bracelet, Manolo Blahnik d’Orsays
3. Gap jean jacket, Urban Outfitters locket necklace, Nocona boots
