Update: The first  winner of the $25 Macy’s gift card is Valerie C with the following comment: “I’d buy that maxi dress. I love it!! I could wear it often. Thanks!”  and the second winner is illsay with the following comment “I’d use the card towards a pair of Levi’s Bold Curve Skinny Right On jeans.” Congratulations Valerie and illsay and a big thank you to all who participated!

As a latina I’m thrilled to spread the word about  Macy’s exciting partnership with Latina Magazine.  To help celebrate the magazine’s 15th anniversary, events are being held around the country from October 1 to 15.  Each event will feature a fashion show featuring Latina Model Search winners as well as makeover stations from Lancome with their new eye palette and mascara. Additionally, an editor from Latina Magazine will be in each city to talk about the hottest fall fashion trends. Each city will have its own twist on the celebration and Grammy-nominated singer Ximena will make a special appearance at the West Covina (CA) event.  For more information about these exciting events, visit macys.com/celebrate.

Music To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15.  Wanna feel the culture?  Check these out:
1. Marc Anthony, “El Cantante.” Music from and inspired by the movie.  NOBODY could of played Hector Lavoe like Marc Anthony.  The music on this cd sends chills down my spine.

2. Juliet Venegas, “Eres Para Mi.” Simply addictive!

3. One of my favorite albums: Buena Vista Social Club. Authentic Cuban music at its best.  “Chan Chan,” “El Cuarto De Tula,” and “De Camin a la Verada” capture the timeless rhythm of Cuban music.
