New John Lennon Ad!

One Laptop Per Child great cause and a great idea (the organizations goal is to supply the world’s poorest children with solar-powered laptops that cost less than $200).  Unfortunately, the advertising angle with John Lennon is down right creepy (his lips don’t match the words and his voice almost sounds chipmunk-like).  I prefer the Forrest Gump version. Check out the ad and a clip of Forrest Gump below!

Maggie Gyllenhaal is known for her sophisticated, classic Hollywood looks, her famous sibling and of course her terrific acting skills — now she’s showing the world a new side to her persona, emerging as a fashion-forward “green” icon!

Just yesterday, Maggie took part in a groundbreaking event during Fashion Week in Los Angeles by hosting SoyJoy’s Fashionably Natural — the very first runway show in L.A. to showcase emerging designers who work exclusively with all-natural fabrics.
Watch now for Maggie’s thoughts on the amazing fashions crafted out of green materials, such as organic cotton, bamboo, cruelty-free silk and recycled fabric!

Jack Johnson: A Greener, Cleaner Rock Star

Singer Jack Johnson doesn’t mind success, as long as it doesn’t come with the large carbon footprint. In an industry known for its excess, the 33-year-old has steered clear from outrageous rider demands like green M&Ms only or expensive whiskey and instead requires recycling stations at green buffets at his tour venues.

The 7 Most Retarded Ways Celebrities Have Tried To Go Green

With the threat of global warming looming, it’s more important than ever that all of us appear to care about the environment.
Maybe no one works harder on this than celebrities, who make it a point to show up in the papers every now and then with their latest eco-friendly gesture. We would applaud them for this, if it wasn’t for the fact that the gestures are often mind-blowingly retarded.

Fabulous Sites With Fabulous Ways To Renew And Reuse

1. The BBC Thread. This is what eco-friendly fashion is about.  It’s creative, chic, and smart.  Their video called Konnie Goes Vintage is awesome. Their site is not updated as frequently as I would like but it’s definitely worth the wait!
2. Michelle Kaufmann: simple yet innovative ideas on how to make your life as eco-friendly as possible.  Her you tube videos are fun, and quirky.  Check out her video on how to make a basket out of the wire used in notebooks…SO COOL!
3. Urban Renewal it’s an exclusive brand to Urban Outfitters.  They don’t have a huge selection, but the pieces are truly one of a kind.  They take men’s shirts, vintage T-shirts, and they even use old sheets! Check out their open back tunic (made with men’s shirts), and the surplus shirt jacket (made from a variety of vintage pieces which means…each one is 100% unique!)

4. Swap Style is the place to go for some guilt free shopping.  It’s basically an online swap party.  Membership is free and sometimes people post things without even wanting anything in return COME ON….HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT!
5. an entirely nonprofit site.  You sign up for FREE and find your community.  Each local group even has a local volunteer to facilitate the “freecycling.”  The idea of this site is to keep perfectly good stuff that people don’t want from ending up in landfills.

Jonas Brothers Going Green With Chevy

Any attempt to go green is admirable, but I have to question the target audience for these videos.
Didn’t the marketing geniuses at Chevy realize that 99% of the Jonas brothers fan base are 13 year old girls who are still driven to the mall by their mommy!
Check out the videos for part 1, 2, and 3!
