I love it when fashion joins forces with a good cause. amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research, just announced the release of a special edition tote bag by fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for HIV/AIDS.

The exclusive launch will be at Bloomingdale’s department stores for a limited time. The stylish limited edition tote bag will have a nautical-inspired design by Gaultier, a longtime supporter of amfAR, along with the designer’s signature across the front. Another friend of the amfaR foundation is the gorgeous model Heidi Klum who graciously donated her time to model the bag (see below)
“I have admired amfAR and their dedication to finding a cure for HIV/AIDS through research for many years now,” said Klum. “This tote bag is a great way to make a statement – whether you’re at the beach, by the pool, or at the park – and let people know that you are supporting amfAR’s efforts to end the AIDS epidemic.”
Starting June 1, the tote bag will be available at Bloomingdale’s department stores across the United States for only $35, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to amfAR’s research programs. The bags will also be available from amfAR at it’s online shops mid-summer.

Angela & Roi Handbags

I don’t know about you but my handbag is a pretty important part of my outfit, and when I pick one it has to have every detail to fit my needs because I wear it all day long and it’s usually filled to the brim!  I was recently sent the Square Dark Orange Tote by Angela & Roi to review and immediately fell in love with the bag AND the company!  It’s a roomy tote that can easily carry an ipad or books and has separate pockets on the outside (essential for people like me that lose everything). It also has a detachable strap making it not only stylish but super functional.   Angela & Roi offer a wide variety of vegan made handbags with a vintage feel that have a luxurious look without the hefty price tag.  Their classic selection of bags and colors make them closet must-haves that will never go out of style.  I also think it’s brilliant how they incorporate charitable endeavors via color. How does the Donate by Color Mission work?  Different medical issues relate to specific colors. For example, Colon Cancer awareness links traditionally with the color blue. When customers purchase a blue handbag, five dollars will automatically be donated to Colon Cancer Alliance.  Check out my tote below and for more info visit –

Project peaceBOMB: Buying Back The Bombs

Sustainable fashion has been hitting the industry hard, and artisan-made jewelry has started to look just as great as the causes they support. Project peaceBOMB uses scrap bomb metal to create bracelets and other sustainable jewelry. They call it Buying Back the Bombs.

During the Vietnam War, over 2 million tons of explosives were dropped on Laos in 580,000 bombing missions. Out of the over 270 million cluster bombs dropped, over 75 million failed to detonate. At the current rate of removal, it will take more than 800 years to clear the country of these bombs.

New York-based designer and young female entrepreneur, Elizabeth Suda created peaceBOMB to give consumers an effortless opportunity to help foster sustainable community development in Laos. Laotian artisans are able to rebuild their livelihoods by repurposing the bomb shards covering their land.

The peaceBOMB product line consists of over 15 pieces, each telling a story and giving back to the community that makes them.  For each piece of product sold, Project peaceBOMB donates funds equivalent to the cost of clearing 1 to 15 square meters of land.

Giving back has never looked so good. Stop by to check out the amazing peaceBOMB collection, and help support the wonderful cause!
