A little black dress is a closet staple but a little black dress that’s also a skirt and minimizes my waist and midriff is just genius! When I first got the Sassybax Convert-A-Skirt I immediately worried that it was going to be one of those suffocating fabrics – but it’s not. Sure it’s snug, but just snug enough to slim all the right spots. The more you play around with it the better it looks and what totally had me hooked was how when I realized that it held up the “little girls” and we all know that’s not an easy task. I wouldn’t say I would be able to go braless in it BUT any strapless bra would do (unlike other strapless dresses without support where I have to search high and low for maximum support). I’m obsessed with this dress! The fabric is a matte black making it super easy to dress up or down. It stays put which is important for me because I plan on wearing it on the dance floor and it’s machine washable. I could go son and on! It’s the perfect dress to pack on any vacation, for a night out on the town or under a blazer for a sexy office look. For more info on Sassybax’s Convert A Skirt visit

~ The Formula: Denim Jacket ~
Still one of my favorite dresses.
Whenever I want to look pulled together but not too dressy I throw on a denim jacket. I’ve had this dress from Ross for years and I’ve worn it solo during the summer, with sweaters and tights when it’s cold but my favorite is with denim. I was originally going to wear my deeper blue Levi’s jacket (seen here) but I thought the distressed one from American Eagle went way better with the boho vibe. Tip: If you’re lucky enough to get casual Friday’s at work, a denim jacket is an easy replacement for a suit or blazer and you can wear it with any skirt or pants.

Summer plaids can be down right flirty and fun if worn with the right pieces. The idea is to keep it fuss free and a little unconventional. Pair your plaids with bright colors, bold accessories and ditch your traditional sandals for flat espadrilles or sneaks. I paired the adorable handkerchief hem skirt from Yesstyle.com with two different blazers. One is a more nautical look and the other a trendier version. Both looks can be worn for day or night and easily taken apart and worn many ways. Tip: avoid tight fits – plaids are meant to be casual and easy to wear even if it’s a dress or skirt.

When summer rolls around down here in Florida it comes with inhuman heat and humidity, which only wreaks havoc on my hair (even after an hour in front of a hairdryer I still end up with frizzy hair)! So lately I’ve been air drying to camouflage the frizz and although I am not 100 percent sold on it, it’s easy to do. I use the hanna thermal protectant oil and Sally Hershberger Shagg Spray that I found for only $2.99 at Ross to get a piece-y look and it works great. Along with the big hair that I to call “beachy waves” I like to keep my outfits easy and comfy as well. I tend to keep my focus on tops because bottoms always consist of cut off shorts, a cotton mini or rolled up jeans. Every year I get on a new kick: last year I was all about asymmetrical tanks and this year it’s graphic tees. I got this one from Shopbop and although a little bit more than I usually pay for tee, it’s totally worth it! It’s got a roomy fit which is perfect for summer; the length makes it look like a perfectly worn-in mens tee and my favorite part is the length of the sleeves – its just long enought to be able to give it a nice roll if I’m in the mood too.

When it comes to summer heels I like them to have a casual feel but still give me the sexy height. For the most part wedges do the trick, but sometimes I want a little more oomph and while looking around for a pair to wear all summer I found these

I love me a comfy worn in tee! I snag the unstained ones from my husbands draw and cut off the collar to give it a off the shoulder look. Normally I switch out of them when I’m going out but my latest tee is sort of a obsession and I wanted to work it into a outfit. I immediately thought of a Chloe Sevigny Copycat I did a few years back and decided to use my white blazer. I love the fresh look the white blazer gives the tee and denim shorts!

This greatly-anticipated spring/summer season brings with it a surprise: the reinvention of men’s tailoring into something that is not only suitable for wear on warm sunny days, but something that can be as practical as it is stylish. No sign of tatty flip-flops and ill-advised vests here!
The Full Suit
Ok, so you’re not going to be reaching for that full black or navy number in the summer’s heat, but as Louis Vuitton recently proved with their spring/summer 2013 collection, a checked suit in the right blend of lighter shades can make for a smart but easy to pull off look that won’t leave you looking out of place in the city or strolling through seaside streets.
The secret to the success of the French fashion house’s sublimely tailored collection lies in the accessories: shades are a given but the model also wore neckskarves tied subtly underneath the open collar of shirts and wore watches that were large enough to command attention, yet sturdy enough to say ‘this is daywear, not occasionwear’.
The Smart Shirt
The perfect item for summer: it’s lightweight but offers coverage against the sun and is available in all the shades you could want to complete any look, from every summer’s favourite – nautical, to the trend that divides men each time it appears – pastel shades. For an idea of the sheer multiplicity of shirts available out there, take a look at the offerings from Hackett; you’ll soon be pairing a smart shirt with tailored shorts or lightly coloured chinos for a daytime look that gives your style everything it needs for summer.
The Summer Savvy Shoes
Boat shoes (also known as deck shoes or loafers) are the stylish man’s best friend for the spring/summer season. They’ll work perfectly with the tailoring that we hope will now define your look, be that shorts or trousers, and since they come in such a range of colours, they’re the ideal way to add an extra splash of personality to your look.
I’m not a huge fan of purple but when I caught a glimpse of the $5 price tag on this dress, I immediately yanked it off the rack. It was then that I noticed the flecks of sparkle and the POCKETS. I was in love! My immediate thought was to pair it with my denim jacket but I thought I’d give it a quirky look by layering it over a polka dot button down and of course a belt (I try to belt just about anything I wear – it’s kinda my thing). I love the definition and personality the belt gives my outfits.

I’m definitely a girly girl who loves fashion but there’s also a side of me (a big one actually) that loves sweat pants and sweatshirts. I’m the girl you’ll see wearing sweats, a denim jacket and accessorized to the nines.
Sweats can be effortlessly stylish if worn with the right pieces and more importantly the right attitude! Check out some of my favorite sweatshirts below.
I never really pay any mind to Ashley Tisdale style but I really LOVE this outfit! This is what a casual stylish outfit should look like! The mint skull sweater and animal print flats give her chic white pants a ton of attitude – perfection! I’ve included some other equally adorable skull sweaters below because the mint one is only available in large. Get Ashley’s look for less with pieces from Nordstrom, Hollister, Pink Mascara & more!
