The Neon Buddha eco-chic fashion collection is perfect for all of summer’s activities – from work to weekend to vacation! These pieces are super bright and colorful and add that extra bit of personality to any wardrobe. Each piece is made of super soft, pre-shrunk material and available in a color palette of 16 bright colors including Perky Pink, Retro Turquoise, Funky Lime and Village Sage.

Now the eco-chic part! Each piece in this collection is handcrafted of 100% super soft, pre-shrunk cotton by 500 women in Thailand, thereby affording them opportunities to better their way of life while doing what they love. In addition, the company’s new 100,000 sq ft Green dye house uses one-tenth of the water and one-quarter of the energy used in traditional cotton dyeing. Also, by incorporating the latest technology into its water treatment facility, the facility emits no pollution from the plant and recycles discharged water by transferring it to neighboring rice fields. The company also donates one percent of global sales in order to effect the mobilization of communities to make the world a better place in which to live and support the health and well-being of thousands through the Mae Tao Clinic and funding disadvantaged women to start their own business through the Mirror Foundation.

Available at major North American retailers including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Anthropologie as well as hundreds of boutiques.

Grab your pens, markers, tablet PC, iPad or whatever it is you’d use to sketch the dress of your dreams. Shumaq and POSHGLAM have partnered to give one of our insanely talented readers the chance to have their designs made a part of the Shumaq Fall 2011 Collection. Shumaq is the eco-friendly and socially responsible brainchild of two Peruvian sisters, Vanessa and Jacqueline Barrentes. The name from the label is taken directly from the Peruvian language Quechua’s word for beautiful, so we’ll expect nothing less than that from your sketches. The label is all about strikingly beautiful handcrafted pieces made by Peruvian female artisans. Vanessa and Jacqueline have molded this contemporary line into an ode to their origins in their use of homegrown goods, textiles, and embellishments. Shumaq takes the promise of being eco-friendly and socially responsible and more than fulfills it with a line that gives the Peruvian women that make the clothing a chance to educate themselves and become self-sufficient.

Starting today, you all have until Jan. 28th 2011 to come up with a design based on the inspiration board that the ladies over at Shumaq have so graciously provided (see above, click to enlarge). Not only will the winner of this inspired contest receive the honor of having their dress made in the Shumaq Fall 2011 Collectionthey’ll also get their very own design shipped to them once it’s made.
