Alex Woo’s New Pendants Inspired By Disneynature’s Film “Chimpanzee”

New York City-based jewelry designer Alex Woo explores the rainforest with her latest nod to Disneynature. In honor of Disneynature’s newest True Life Adventure “Chimpanzee,” Woo designed two exclusive pendants featuring an image inspired by Oscar, the young chimpanzee destined to steal the hearts of moviegoers nationwide when the film swings into theaters April 20, 2012.

Featured alongside the young chimpanzee in Woo’s designs are three vines that were inspired by the Jane Goodall Institute’s mission to protect people, animals and the environment. Twenty percent of proceeds from sales of the pendants will benefit JGI’s conservation efforts to protect chimpanzees today and tomorrow.

Available in eco-friendly recycled sterling silver and 14K gold, the one-inch, open cut-out pendant (starting at $218) and 4/5-inch solid disc pendant (starting at $158) both hang from 18-inch chains. For availability and more information, check out

Celebrity Copycat: Kate Middleton’s Look for Less!

There has been a lot of excitement and stir regarding Princess-to-be, Kate Middleton, and her wedding dress for her upcoming wedding to Prince William.  Will she go for the fairy tale ball gown look, as Princess Diana did?  Or will she stay modern with ruffles and saches?  It could go either way, but my guess is that she’s sticking to her personal style.  Kate tends to dress conservatively, with a flare of sexiness.  There’s been word that she may choose Vera Wang. the queen of bridal and elegant dresses, to design her wedding gown.  And here we have the same designer(for less!) with her line for Priscilla of Boston.  Known for their designer wedding dresses, Priscilla of Boston also carries gorgeous gowns similar to the one Kate here has on.  Paired with matching champagne pumps and black ruffle clutch, this style emulates Kate’s simple yet chic style.  What are your thoughts?

Isaac’s spring 2010 collection at the New York Fashion Week was exciting- lots of ruffles and petals, short little numbers and those hats! As only Isaac would do it! The little square clutches, and box purses definitely made the show reminiscent of the early –mid 1900’s (think 40’s -60’s), the occasional umbrella gave me the feeling that we were heading for a picnic in the rain! Bold lips and the Blazers were a common theme and are bound to be the in trend this fashion year. Catch the show here.

Key notes of the fashion show: Menswear inspired shoes, Bold Lips, Lavender, the occasional fringe, and just a little sparkle

I’m eagerly anticipating the release of his Ready to Wear Collection. Check out my ever growing Isaac Mizrahi wish list on Wishpot.
