Picking Oranges

Pastels are perfect to celebrate beautiful spring weather, but nothing beats a pretty shade of orange to go with a golden tan for the summer.  Unlike pastels, orange compliment’s just about anyone’s complexion and can easily be used as a neutral color when building an outfit.  Check out some of my favorite pieces below.

Orange Fishtail Pleat Dress – $44 at Dorothy Perkins

Orange Jeggings – $69.50 at Calvin Klein

Orange Silk Top – $94.80 at BCBG

Orange Hi-low Dress – $79 at Lulu’s

A Little Layering

November 18, 2012 by

Last week I spent some time in my hometown of New York visiting family and enjoying the cool fall weather in cozy sweaters, warm gloves and tons of layers!  From a fashion standpoint the balmy temperature of Florida (where I live full time) definitely limits the options.  Not only do I love to layer, but the holiday’s seem more like a holiday when its cold outside!  Hoping I can make it back to New York soon to see some snow and bundle up!

Good Taste, Great Style: My Top 5 Fall Trends

November 1, 2012 by
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds

This season has all the key ingredients for a fab fall wardrobe!  While the color palette still has all of your favorite basics, the tones are a lot more bold and dramatic.  I’m personally loving the slightly gothic vibe this year.  Below are my personal five favorites!

Metallics

Such an easy way to glam up any outfit particularly with accessories or shoes.

Leather

Combine some leather and metallics to pack a powerful yet sexy look.

Oxblood

Oxblook (or as most would call it burgundy) is rich, warm and sophisticated.  Whether it’s an oxblood mani, oxblood blazer or even a lipstick it will definitely stand out!

Cap Toe Heels

This can easily fall under the metallic trend because some of the most popular shoes for fall have metallic tips – but they also come in suede, patent leather or even stripes!  Pair them with a skinny pant and turtleneck for sleek modern look!

Retro

Think tweeds, cardigans and oxfords.  A throw back to the 60’s but with more of a modern fit – perfect trend to hit those vintage shops!

Yoplait® Original is proof that classic is always a good choice. We have more than 20 flavors that burst with the delicious, flavorful creaminess that isn’t just good, it is SO good, especially now that it’s made with natural colors, flavors and sweeteners. What can be more than SO good? The fact that Yoplait® Light is made in more than 20 flavors that contain 90 calories and 2 Weight Watchers® PointsPlus® value each.  But the best part is the inspiration these fun flavors can be when it comes to fashion – how about a Key Lime Pie clutch or a little black forest cake dress. We believe the best fashion statements come from flavor inspiration.  What flavor inspires you? Try a new one today and use it to plan your outfit tomorrow.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s outfit has all of the fall elements that I love: a cozy fair isle sweater, blazer, colored skinnies and booties (I can do without the sunglasses though, it totally contradicts the outfit!). It’s a stylish, laid back look that is perfectly effortless!  BTW how fabulous are the studded boots I found at JCPenney?!

Military Inspired Looks For Boys & Girls

October 17, 2012 by
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds

Watching out for fall fashion trends 2012, one notices a tendency to return to rougher designs and practical outfits for both men and women. Warm boots, casual jeans, and even anoraks have become fashionable again. These developments also empower the return of the military style, which emerges mainly through camouflage patterns, navy cuts and military watches to complete your outfit. The positive thing about that look is, it can be worn by both sexes. Here are some tips on how to weave the military look into your own style without making it look too rebellious.

Military Feel For Girls:

For young women who usually want to leave an elegant impression behind, the military look does not have to be taboo. In fact, the combination of elegant cuts of the military can enhance one’s own personal style by simultaneously adding a whiff of decency and vigor. But for those who wish to start slowly, there is always the option of embellishing the feminine grace through accessories like scarves with military emblems, a camouflaged bag or military-inspired watches. In that way, every girl is always ready to change the outfit if necessary.

For Boys – Between soldier & James Bond:

The utter coolness of the military style underlines the masculinity of every young man. By wearing stylish shirts with army decors or jackets in greenish colors, every boy can live the dream of being an energetic hero. And for the more laid-back type, there is always the option of creating an air of coolness through a double-breasted suit reminiscent of the empire days. Young men can move like James Bond watching out for their Bond girl while ruling the world on the side.

All In The Attitude:
No matter how much military style there is in your outfit and no matter if you are boy or girl, you have to wear it with the right attitude. Take your shoulders back, look up and walk self-confidently through the streets. After all, this attitude should be part of every style you’re wearing, but the military look can make it even more visible.
