During the summer I like to create a bursting palette of color in my closet, like a dish of vibrant summer fruit. Hey, if science has proven that the more color on your plate the healthier it is, than maybe the same holds true for a colorful outfits hanging in your closet! To me, being happy with what you’re wearing goes hand in hand with being healthy and one of the most cheerful colors is yellow. It’s bright like the sun and just as refreshing as Caress® Juicy Escape™ Fresh Collection Body Wash – one of the many luscious body washes from their new collection.
Last time I focused on their emerald green wash and how beautiful it looked with this years pantone color radiant orchid and this time my focus is on the gorgeous yellow. I have to admit the Caress® Juicy Escape™ Fresh Collection Body Wash is probably my favorite one of the bunch. The scent is like summer in a bottle bursting with sun-kissed lily and a pinch of tangy pink grapefruit essence – it’s a must have! This time I decided to work with a yellow blazer for summer. I know it’s hot out but there’s always those times when you’re in AC and it’s chilly…plus it’s a polished yet fun piece that can easily work its way into any outfit.
I like to pair yellow with bright whites, beige and even some grays to give it a minimalistic feel. For example if you want to add a pop of color to a sleek work outfit try adding a well fitted yellow blazer, white slacks and a pretty white blouse. It’s professional yet stylish and the white keeps it simple and sleek.
Yellow works beautifully in a casual look as well. Simply pair the yellow blazer with denim shorts, a tee and sandals. Any color denim will work but I like the contrast between the distressed dark denim and the yellow because it gives it more of an effortless cool vibe.
You can even follow the same pattern with an evening look by pairing the yellow blazer with a flirty white dress and sexy strap sandals. Another look that’s simple without sacrificing an ounce of style.
Three looks that will brighten any day or night much like Caress® Juicy Escape™ Fresh Collection Body Wash.
The Caress® Fresh collection wraps your skin in vibrant scents and hydrating lather, leaving it revitalized and delicately scented. Try the new Caress® Fresh Collection and revitalize your skin like never before.
Sequins: Try anything with sequins but I love me a sequin top and jeans. Tip: For a little layering affect get a slouchy top and leave little black or white tank peeking out from underneath.
Go Monochromatic: Pick a color (I prefer black, white or gray) and wear it from head to toe. Not only is it super easy to throw together but it also has a slimming effect AND a expensive feel.
Add a Statement Necklace: This is the easiest and fool proof way to dress up any outfit. Wear your biggest boldest necklace over a turtleneck, with a button down or over simple white tee. Tip: Look for necklaces with mixture of bold and basic colors. This will give you more wiggle room when styling a casual outfit.
Kourtney is one stylish mama! This outfit is sexy, stylish and more importantly super comfy! Great to run errands, pack for a trip or even wear to the playground. Tip: not comfortable with the crop top? No problem – any striped top will do.
I never really paid much attention to Heidi Klum’s style; it always seemed either a bit boring or a bit over the top. That’s not the case with this outfit! I like the combo of the distressed shorts classed up a bit with a pretty blouse and finished off with casual sandals. Great outfit to take on vacation and just about anyone can wear it.
I bought this white blazer from Tobi on a whim and I always find a different outfit to wear it with. This time I paired with my new pink skirt. I spotted this little pink skater skirt for only $5 and knew I wanted to wear it with my white blazer and a cropped top I bought at Ross a few months ago. I’ve been looking for a colored bottom to wear the crop top with for some time but because it’s a crop top I wanted something higher at the waist and this skirt is perfect! Check the three different ways I’ve worn my white blazer below.
What I’m Wearing:
Cropped Top – $7.99 from Ross
Pink Skater Skirt $5 from Papaya
Caged Heels – $30 from a local boutique in Tampa
For the past week or so the temp here in Florida has been in the 90’s, but luckily we got a short break from the heat and humidity and it’s an easy breezy 80 outside. What does sthat mean for me? For one, it’s the chance to wear something other than shorts and a tank! I originally bought this floral high-low top to wear over a

I’m not a sun lover and during the colder weather I normally use L’Oreal’s Sublime Bronze self tanning mist for a hint of color, but I try to get a real tan a few times a year and last week I managed to sneak away to the beach for the day. I’m not as tanned as I’d like to be but it’s definitely an improvement and it looks great with my little white dress, orange blazer and new tan sandals. 🙂

I’ve always been an avid thrift store shopper and nothing is more exciting than finding something you love on the cheap. Just the other day my son asked me to take him thrifting and I was SO excited not only because he showed an interest in one of my passions, but also because we were going on a day that offered 50 percent off clothes. While my son was looking to find what he called “Cosby” type sweaters I hit the women’s clothing section and found a spotted faux fur coat for $16 but I got it $8! I expected the coat to need some type of tailoring but it fit perfectly and it’s in amazing condition! I won’t be wearing it too often here in Florida but I now have a super cute coat for my frequent NY visits.
What I’m Wearing:
Vintage Faux Fur Coat – $8 from Local Thrift Store
Mint Green Dress – $7.50 from T.J. Maxx
Betsey Johnson Sunglasses $20 from T.J. MAxx

The old saying, “if it ain’t broke. don’t fix it,” perfectly describes how I feel about must-have basic pieces in fashion. Trends come and go but basics never go out of style, particularly certain patterns and colors. To that end I decided to start a series of posts called The Formula to highlight my favorite style “ingredients.” The most obvious one to start with is stripes and if you follow my posts then it’s obvious by now that I love stripes. I literally wear the pattern in some shape or form about 3 times a week. Tip: The thinner the stripe the better – keep that in mind when choosing anything with stripes.

Add a little attitude to your cut off shorts this summer with these prune studded booties. Tip: don’t let the color and suede fool you – these boots can easily be worn with bright spring colors or summer florals.
These black ankle boots are the perfect pair to invest in. I paired them with burgundy skinny jeans and a sweater but they literally go with everything and they won’t go out of style.
Another classic bootie that won’t go out of style and can be worn all year round. Tip: tights and leggings make these boots even easier to wear, especially when transitioning pieces.
