I get a lot of beauty products to try out but I only review the products that I really do love. The last couple of months I’ve been getting some real gems. Last time I got the completely bare hair remover from a Klout perk and this time I got the magic pads created by Celebrity stylist Rob Harmon. They’re supposed to repair sun damage while fighting acne and repair wrinkles all with a simple swipe of the magic pads which have a combination of glycolic acid which helps the cell turnover along with salicylic acids to help control acne.
Despite living in Florida, I have no sun damage. But I do have acne prone skin and the start of some very fine lines around mouth so I could definitely see me benefiting from these magic pads. After one swipe I knew they would work wonders on my skin, but I wondered if they would actually dry out my skin because of the glycolic acid. After a few seconds my skin actually felt soft, fresh and my pores instantly looked small – I loved it! I’ve been using it daily and so far I’ve been able to drop my acne skin wash thanks to the pads. They really do sound like they’re too good to be true but they are. At only $19.99 the Magic Pads do the job of probably three different pricey products. It’s perfect for women and men of all ages!
The Magic Pads use a unique blend of Glycolic acid, Organic Willow Bark, Hualuronic acid and VitaminE in an Organic Aloe Vera juice base, the pads are designed to organically destroy acne, clear blemishes, smooth and tighten skin, shrink pores, exfoliate, tone, clarify and hydrate.
I only wish the Magic Pads were sent to me years ago! For more info about the amazing Magic Pads you visit –
To me, beauty is literally skin deep and I believe that everything you put inside your body will reflect outwards. My beauty routine always starts in the kitchen, and the products I use play a supporting role in keeping my skin looking polished. In today’s hectic working-mom world, my routine also has to be simple and quick; and the products I use have to provide maximum impact. Below is my routine in keeping my look fresh and hopefully forever young.
I Literally Veg Out
I try to make sure that when I sit down and eat that my plate has a lot of veggies. Not only are they healthy, but they’re proven wrinkle reducers. A typical meal will include a boiled egg over a bed of spinach and grilled chicken.
If I don’t drink a minimum of 8-10 cups of water a day my skin will immediately look dull. It’s the best thing you can do for your skin and it’s also the easiest and cheapest. I don’t necessarily like to drink water, so I carry a stylish flask and pretty cup to make it more of a treat (and I add fresh lemon or lime). Any fruit will work but the lemon and lime help burn calories – bonus!
I never leave the house without blush and mascara. The eyes are the window to the soul and I want my eyes to look bright, happy and ready to conquer the day; it’s like coffee for the eyes. I apply three coats of mascara concentrating on the outer lashes. The blush application is equally important because I like a “no-makeup” look – so I apply it to only my apple cheeks as opposed to up and out towards my ears like we’ve all been taught.
Exfoliating is probably the most important part of any skin care routine because it allows the skin to better absorb any moisturizer you use. Every night after I remove my makeup I exfoliate. I take a small bowl and add 4 tablespoons of regular white sugar and mix it with two tablespoons of water and mix until it is a thick paste and scrub it on my face in a circular motion.
My skin tends to get oily and it’s prone to acne so I’m really picky when choosing a moisturizer. Lately I’ve been using O
All it takes is a little mindful eating; a few must-have products and more importantly a big smile!

I’m not one to wear tons and tons of makeup. My makeup routine is pretty simple: a dusting of powder foundation, a dab of bronzing powder and lots of mascara. But I noticed after having Joseph that my makeup routine was not cutting it – my skin was dull and just overall blah due to all the pregnancy hormones. In addition to replacing all those cups of coffee with water, I’ve been looking for a product that would allow my skin to breathe and shine on its own. Which is why I was super excited to be offered the 30 of beautiful challenge and try the new Clarins Double Serum! I’ve been a fan of Clarins for many many years and I’ve heard amazing stuff about the Double Serum.
Clarins Double Serum is powered by 20 pure plant extracts and potent, high-tech molecules—Double Serum’s innovative, dual chamber system combines two age-defying formulas into one groundbreaking serum that reactivates skin’s vital functions and promising results in just 4 weeks. I wanted to give this product a really fair shot so I went without makeup and moisturizer during the 30 days (only during my days at home) and let the product really do its thing.
I religiously applied it after washing my face in the morning and at night. One of my favorite things about the double serum is the smell – it’s divine and exactly like you’d expect any Clarins products to smell – rich ! I gave it a couple of days before I started to analyze my skin but I could literally feel it working. My skin immediately felt more plump and softer. Within 2 weeks it was noticeably brighter to the point where I was able to skip my foundation and that’s when I was hooked! After the full 30 days my pores and small fine lines were less noticeable. And it didn’t aggravate my sensitive oily skin which is a HUGE plus for me.
I realize that no amount of makeup or beauty product will ever match natural beauty but there comes a time in life when you need a little help, and Clarins Double Serum definitely does the trick and then some! So glad I tried this out – it has inspired me to keep up my new skin regiment and wear even less makeup.
Don’t forget you still have time to enter Clarins
“Clarins combines two age-defying formulas into one ground breaking serum that firms skin, reduces wrinkles, evens skin tone and minimizes pores. 90% of women find it more effective that their current serum. Proven for all skin types, all ages, and all ethnicities.”

Like any new mom, I’m totally obsessed with my beautiful new baby boy. He just started smiling and I walk around like I was the paparazzi snapping pics in the hopes of another great big gummy smile to share on Instagram. If you look at my Instagram feed you’ll notice that my kids are my usual focus (I have 5 boys so it’s sort of impossible not to be inspired). I always try to encourage them to do what they love and capturing those moments on camera is a dream come true for me!

My favorite nail polishes are the dark vampy type: it can be a deep dark green, a oxblood burgundy or the new classic black. This week I decided to mix my favorite forest green by cosmetic arts that I bought at Ross for only $1.99. It’s amazing I love that it’s really smooth and barely needs a second coat and I also used Revlon’s Nail Art in ulterior motif. I normally would have done the green on it’s own but it’s Halloween this week and my birthday is the day after so I wanted something a little more fun and what better way than with sparkles! Below are the steps to my mani.
What I used:
Revlon Ulterior Motif
Wet n Wild Clear Polish
Cosmetic Art #34
1. I applied one thick coat of clear polish.
2. Two coats of the green (only half the nail on the ring fingers) and let dry.
3. Apply 3 coats of the sparkle end of Ulterior Motif to the ring fingers.
4. After all the nails are dry lights brush the sparkle along the sides of nails. I formed a v to create a pattern but it’s also very pretty if you apply sporadically.
Can anyone find the will to get up an hour early for work, just to create a picture-perfect, long-lasting look? There must be a way to achieve beauty that holds throughout the day without all the (wo)man-hours. Most of us have ten minutes (if we’re lucky) to apply our go-to look, before rushing out the front door. Apply your beauty products tactically to get more mileage out of your makeup with these five tricks.
Do you find that your mascara gives up its day job by lunchtime? Set your eyelashes with a curler heated under a hair dryer. Check that the metal is touchable before you gently crimp your lashes, twice in the middle and near the tips. This’ll open the eye and create a fantastic flick for the mascara to work with.
Before applying your eye makeup, prime your lids with a base – perhaps a neutral shade of shadow or an eye primer like Urban Decay’s Primer Potion – before continuing with your other beauty products. When you line your eyes, ditch the pencil for either liquid or gel alternatives, so your style will last until bed time.
For lashes with staying power, you’ll have to apply several thin coats of mascara. If you’re looking for volume, dust your lashes first with translucent powder. Unless you want to look like a member of KISS, wear waterproof mascara, as the British weather is not your friend.
It’s always worth keeping a few beauty lifelines in your bag. Concealer is great for covering up any breakouts or panda marks around your eyes. Ladies with oily skin should consider carrying around powder to lightly matte-out glossy areas during the day – don’t apply too much though, as it’ll look as if you’re wearing a mask.
Before you do anything, leave your moisturiser to soak in to your skin for at least five minutes before applying your foundation. Only apply to areas that need attention before sealing off with powder. For a bulletproof look, many women swear by foundation primer, so give that a test run, but remember to always use products that are suited to your skin type.
Smell Gorgeous All Day Long
Look amazing and smell gorgeous by applying your perfume to
The mouth is always a danger point. More often than not, lipstick ends up on our chin or teeth, around cups and half-eaten sandwiches. Even after a few hours, our colour has almost completely faded.
Although you may have to reapply once or twice, you can help your lipstick hold by pencilling in your lips first. Instead of pressing the makeup directly on to your pouters, use a lip brush to press on flawless layers of colour and seal in with a light swipe of gloss. Perfect!

My first attempt at nail art was for a Revlon color closet where I did a matte urban blue with glitter tips. It was so easy and fun that I immediately started of thinking of what my next nail art would be and since Halloween is coming I knew I had to give my self a candy corn mani. I like my nails to be simple so I just did one nail on each hand and kept the other nails a sandy color and topped it off with some glitter. Below are the steps to recreate the fun nail look.
What I used:
Forever 21 Love & Beauty polish in orange.
Wet n Wild Whispering Dunes
Revlon Matte Polish
Revlon Nail Art in Atomic Pink
Revlon hearts of Gold
ArtBox extreme Nail Art Kit brushes from Walmart.
1. Begin with 1 coat of the matte polish and let dry.
2. Starting at the top and apply one light coat of the orange using the slanted brush and let dry.
3. Apply 1 coat of the sand dunes color and let dry (use the nail polish brush and quickly swipe across the nail)
4. Using the Revlon nail art brush apply 2 coats of white across the tip of your nail and let dry.
5. Head back to the top of your nail and apply one more coat of orange.
6. When all the nails are completely dry apply one more coat of the matte polish and let dry.
7. After all your nails are dry apply a very light coat of Revlon Hearts of Gold (make sure you swipe off any hearts on the brush before applying).
For me, waking up with wide awake and fresh eyes is a thing of the past. Even if I get my eight hours of sleep, I still need a little help from my mascara. I have a five minute makeup routine that I use year round, but during the summer it always needs a little tweaking. The humidity doesn’t let my powder foundation stay put, lipstick never ever sounds appealing if you’re sweating all day, and my trusty mascara needs a little more staying power. Now when I have a tan I can get away with just mascara, but it needs to withstand the 100 degree weather and even a day at the beach (yes, I wear mascara even to the beach). Check out my five tips to keep your makeup looking fresh all summer long!
Now is the time to sport your tan, and ditch the heavy foundation or powders. Try a tinted moisturizer of a BB cream with SPF, a light cheek stain or, even better for your skin, a bronzing powder. Tip: focus on the parts where the sun naturally hits the bridge of your nose, temple and top of cheeks for a natural look.
Save your pretty colored lipsticks for the cooler weather or try dabbing a little on your cheeks. On your lips use lip gloss and balms for a nude lip to compliment your summer skin routine. Tip: I’ve mentioned here how I dab bronzing powder over lip balm for some color and even on my eyes but lately I’ve been using a tiny bit of concealer mixed with lip gloss for a nude lip and it looks great!
Take advantage of summer’s most favorite hair trend: beachy waves. Skip the hair drier and try making your own sea salt spray for your hair (click here for Free People’s awesome concoction that I personally use). After spraying your hair pull it up into a bun and let dry. I know most women prefer a braid but I don’t like the way it leaves my thick hair. The bun gives it a looser wave and lasts longer. Tip: if you have naturally wavy hair like me then try blow drying just the front of your hair, and then apply sea salt by hand. This minimizes front-end frizz, which is the worst!
Mascara, mascara, mascara! During the summer I switch to a waterproof mascara so I can wear it all day without worrying about smudging if I am at the pool or beach. It really is a lifesaver. Tip: skip the mascara on the lower lashes. Waterproof mascaras can be tougher to remove and the skin around the eyes is the most delicate. It will give you an even more natural look if you apply enough at the top lashes.
Opt for the popular gel manicure. A bit pricier than a regular mani, but so worth it especially during the summer if your busy with kids like me. They dry instantly and stay shiny for up to two weeks.
What are some of your favorite summer beauty tips?
Vera Wang’s new sparkling fragrance “
The top notes of the sexy fragrance is red currant, pomegranate, champagne, passion fruit, florals, musk infused woods (a must for me in any frangrance) and pink sugar crystal…they remind of what girls are made of…sugar and spice and everything nice. 🙂
Available in an exquisite pale violet bottle with big bold gems along the top (think of a antique decanter draped with a beautiful necklace). The fragrance notes make it perfect for day and night (another must for me) and can be found in 30, 50 and 75ml EDP. Be Jeweled was launched in 2013 and can be found now at Kohl’s.

I’m far from being a expert in applying makeup but I am a busy mom who has a few tricks up my sleeve. The key for me is to keep my makeup routine quick and easy, mostly because I’m up by 6:30 a.m. and out the door by 7 a.m. Below are my favorite six products that I apply in less than five minutes:
1. Loose powder foundation (it’s fool proof and keeps the oil to a minimum).
2. Bronzing powder. Besides using it on my cheeks I also dab it on my eyes in place of eyeshadow and even add a tad on my lips for a little tint.
3. Mascara. I use three coats but for me the key is to apply more towards the outer lashes and wiggle the brush inwards (it opens up the eye giving it a wide awake look).
4. A little bit of eyeliner on the upper and lower corners of the eyes.
5. White eye shadow applied to the corner of my eyes using a Q Tip for a brighter look.
6. Lip balm and lipgloss. I apply the lip balm all over and use the lipgloss only on the center of my lips (it gives the illusion of a fuller lips).
During the summer I take it down a notch and only use a basic SPF 30 moisturizer, mascara and lipgloss. I started using the loose powder foundation when I moved to Florida because it has a longer staying power against the humidity, but lately it’s been leaving my skin looking dull. Which is why I was so excited when I was offered the chance to review some of Revlon® new products like their new Photo Ready BB cream with SPF 30 and their super lustrous lipgloss and lipstick.
Revlon’s Photo Ready BB Cream offers a lot for the price: hydration like a moisturizer, a foundation like coverage, smooth like a primer and covers up flaws like a concealer (all while protecting your skin with SPF 30). My skin is acne prone but also gets dry if I don’t hydrate, so when I applied the bb cream the first thing I noticed was the creamy, soft texture and how easy it was to blend into my skin. I didn’t want to add too much of any other makeup products because I wanted to really see if it let me skin show through – which happily it did. The coverage was sheer and left a fresh face feel and look which is perfect for someone like me who likes to wear makeup but not look like I’m wearing it. Other observations include:
I wore the BB Cream all day running errands in a 90 degree/humid dyad it stood the test. It looked just as fresh from beginning to end (I just wish I could say the same about my hair!).
The lipgloss and lipstick shades are gorgeous! I don’t normally wear such bold shades but these weren’t harsh. The berry allure lipgloss (see below) was sheer and super shiny and the lipstick was overall very pretty and perfect for evenings.
Revlon has now gotten my beauty routine back on track and I’m officially hooked on the BB cream!
