CitySlips Flats Review & Exclusive 20% Discount

I love my heels…I really do…but after a countless long days with the kids and marathon nights of merengue, it’s really taking a toll! But sometimes miracles really do come in small comfy packages. CitySlips recently sent me a pair of adorable ballerina flats to review and ever since they come with me wherever I go.

Now when I wear my heels for a night on the town and need to switch to a pair of flats (but still want to look chic) I slip out the super stylish clutch that holds these ingenious little beauties.

So what are CitySlips?  CitySlips® is the “total package” solution to a crippling (literally) problem. Their innovative split-sole structure and comfy elastic backing allow them to fold neatly and securely into a compact carrying case. Once the flats have been removed, the small pouch unzips and expands, becoming a full-size tote bag. Throw those heels inside and enjoy a more comfortable commute home, or another few hours on the dance floor.

I’m going to go ahead and call these my go-to flats from now on because they really are the whole package.  And you can enjoy a pair at 20% off using code fashiongrail at checkout.  Check out the rest of CitySlips selection here – www.cityslips.com

My Celebrity Style Inspiration: Jessica Alba

When it comes to fashion inspiration, I’ve always been enamored with celebrities that “wear their hearts on their sleeves” and embody a style that both accentuates and complements their mood and personality (like Rachel Zoe, Rachel Bilson and Drew Barrymore). But when it comes to my personal day to day style, my hat goes off to actress, entrepreneur and mother of two Jessica Alba.  As a working mom, I truly admire the ease and simplicity of her wardrobe choices like tees, skinny jeans, blazers and scarfs.  Alba always looks stylish, comfortable and sexy (without over doing it) and effortlessly mixes colors and patterns without sacrificing her free spirit.

For my spin on Alba’s style, I bought a chambray dress at Forever 21 and paired it with a crochet cardigan from Marshall’s, and a studded belt from T.j. Maxx (I always manage to sneek something studded into my outfits) and brown strappy heels from meet mark.

Like Alba, comfort and ease have to be incorporated into a lot of my outfits…which is why I love affordable stores like TJ Maxx and Forever 21 (yes even moms can shop there!).

Speaking of style and comfort, We think its tremendous popularity is proof that the 2012 Corolla offers the ideal blend of comfort, value and safety. In it, you’ll find a surprising number of high-end features, like available Display Audio system. It offers remarkable performance and fuel efficiency, plus an impressive list of standard safety features. Factor in its legendary reliability, and it’s even more apparent that Corolla is the smart choice.

All About The Shoes

Like a lot of people, there are days when being a mom and having a full time job collide in the worst possible way.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve thrown style out the window in the interest of comfort, simplicity and sanity.  Which is why I loved these wedges from Shoe Privee.

No matter kind of day you’re having or what outfit you’re wearing, these shoes will definitely kick it up a notch!

I paired my platform wedges c/o Shoe Privee with black cargo skinny jeans from Forever21 (no longer available), a tank from American Eagle (no longer available), a jacket from Kohl’s Apt. 9 line, Balenciaga inspired bag from Belloiris, sunglasses from Ross, and ring from Twisted Silver (one of my favorites).
