Review: Guilty Soles Shoe Membership Without A Monthly Commitment

Guilty Soles Shoe Club review

I like every other shoe obsessed girl have been tempted to try all of those monthly shoe clubs but I’ve never actually gone through with it. One of the main reasons why I’ve never actually gone through with it was because I didn’t want the monthly commitment of buying a pair of shoes without seeing the actually quality. I’m known to like a bargain and have no problem buying affordable shoes but to pay and join a monthly shoe club  scares me because it’s a year long commitment. So, when Guilty Soles offered me the chance to try out their shoe membership that DID NOT require a monthly purchase I immediately jumped at the chance. I actually  couldn’t believe that all it took was $49.95 membership fee and for one year you can choose how many times you purchase something for only $19.95. Not bad!  I took a few days to find a pair of shoes that really jumped out at me. They have a pretty big selection and I wanted to make sure that the pair I chose fit my style and would clue me into whether or not a membership would be worth it.

I narrowed it down to three pairs the Press Tour Black, Summer romance White and the Premier Blue heels. The Premier Blue heels jumped out at me the most because of the bold blue and animal print heel so I went with those. I got the shoes within 3 days and the packaging was so pretty! The gold box made it look like a Christmas gift and inside was a handy duster bag to keep the shoes. I was really impressed without even trying them on. When I went to try on the shoes I did panic a bit because for some reason I didn’t notice the heel zipper online. My feet have never fit well with heel zippers and I’ve always had to return any I bought. Not the case with these at all – they fit perfectly! The shoes all in all were exactly as I expected and more. They’re well made, impeccable details and pretty comfy considering they’ve got 5 inch heels. They’re a pair of shoes that are worth adding to my collection. Guilty Soles in my opinion is definitely worth the $49.95 member ship fee.  Even if you end up only buying just one pair for $19.95 it’s worth it!  I can’t wait to order my next pair!

completely bare Review

I’ve gotten my share of Klout perks but none of them quite impressed me like the one I got this week from completely bare. Besides having adorable packaging (I’m a sucker for cute packaging) it came with an ENTIRE set of hair removal products: waxing strips, numbing spray, bump blaster and a moisturizing hair inhibitor. I’m not one who constantly needs to be waxing any parts of my body, but I do I like to always keep my skin smooth and I frequently use facial strips on my extremely sensitive skin.

Klout Perks Review

The first thing I did was test out the waxing strip on my legs and it worked great on spots with thicker hair. I did notice that rubbing the strips several times until you actually feel the wax warming helped out quite a bit. Overall, not much pain but like I said I’m never in serious need of a shave/wax.

After waxing I gave the body moisturizer and hair inhibitor a try and the first thing I noticed was how yummy it smelled! The moisturizer is exactly how I prefer moisturizers to be – light weight and without a greasy feeling. I used it every night after showering for one week and what did I notice? Extremely moisturized skin and my normal once a week leg shave was no longer needed – awesome!

After I cleared up a nasty break out on my face I decided to try out the facial strips. This made me a little nervous because my skin is so sensitive. I’ve had some pretty bad reactions to facial strips and have been using Sally Hansen Hair Removal Creme religiously for about 10 years. I applied the wax and strips on the sides of my face where my sideburns grow and rubbed until I felt the wax warm. I then closed my eyes, pulled the strip off and waited. Result? Clear smooth skin – love it!

I didn’t give the bikini bump blaster or the cooling spray a try but from the looks of it I’m sure they’re just as great. My favorite was the moisturizing hair inhibitor – it’s a nice treat after a long day on the beach. I definitely recommend giving any of these four products a try (especially during summer).  Click here for more info on the entire line and services.

Trend For Less: Pearls

July 7, 2014 by

When I was little, every time I saw my mom put on a strand of pearls I immediately thought she was going somewhere fancy. I always thought it was a bummer that something so pretty had to be saved for a special night and her response was always the same, “what do I need pearls for when I’m in jeans running errands every day?” That pretty much shaped what I thought of pearls for most of my adult life – pearls are too fancy for every day use.

Chanel Pearl Choker

That’s definitely not the case anymore. In the past couple of months the pearl has been popping up everywhere in a much edgier way. Chanel debuted its choker with massive sized pearls and Christian Dior came out with gorgeous double sided pearl studs. Looking to add some pearls to your every day looks? Look for styles with more details like studs and chains. Pair them with your favorite jeans and tees or stick to a little black dress and add the updated strand of pearl.

When it’s hot and humid out I like to keep things simple.  I want my summer beauty products to be able to be long lasting and portable because my Summer’s are busy and fun.  Below are some of my must have items all under $20.  I didn’t include amoisturizer on purpose,  I have extremely oily skin and have yet to find one that doesn’t make me break out so right now I’m just using the Clarins Double Serum that I was sent to review (read about it here) it leaves my face incredibly soft and so far I have not broken out or really needed any moisturizer.

Must Have Beauty Items

1. Here in Florida sunscreen is a year round must have and I always carry Neutrogena’s pure & free baby sunscreen for me and my kids.  $8.99 available at Neutrogena.com

3. Self tanners and skin scrubs go hand in hand.  They will give you smooth skin and help ensure a even tan from your tanning lotion.  This one from Victoria Secret is hands down one of the best I’ve tried it’s $18 but one bottle can last all summer.  Smoothing Scrub – $18 at VictoriaSecret.com

Just a few pairs of shoes that will be in heavy rotation this summer. 🙂

I wanted a pair of strappy sandals but I find them a tad uncomfortable.  These heels (on the left) by Dolce Vita are a perfect replacement.  They lace up the front but still give me the support I need.  They’re by far one of my favorite!  The Steven wedges are amazing!  They go with everything and look amazing with a little black dress.  The metallic wedge give them a little glitz and the tan color keeps them casual – love them!

summer heels

As much as I love my heels I need to be realistic.  I can’t always run around with heels while I’m with the baby.  For those busy days I have my Yosi Samra sandals in white with animal print.  SO comfy!  In my purse I usually carry around my London Sole ballerina flats.  They go with everything anytime of the year!

Must Have Summer Flats

For days at the playground I’ve also got some sneaks.  I bought these keds like sneaks from a street vendor in NY for only $5 each.   Nothing beats shopping those NY street vendors – nothing!  I miss NY 🙁

Clarins 30 Days of Beautiful + Clarins Double Serum Review

May 22, 2014 by

I’m not one to wear tons and tons of makeup. My makeup routine is pretty simple: a dusting of powder foundation, a dab of bronzing powder and lots of mascara. But I noticed after having Joseph that my makeup routine was not cutting it – my skin was dull and just overall blah due to all the pregnancy hormones. In addition to replacing all those cups of coffee with water, I’ve been looking for a product that would allow my skin to breathe and shine on its own. Which is why I was super excited to be offered the 30 of beautiful challenge and try the new Clarins Double Serum! I’ve been a fan of Clarins for many many years and I’ve heard amazing stuff about the Double Serum.

Clarins Double Serum

Clarins Double Serum is powered by 20 pure plant extracts and potent, high-tech molecules—Double Serum’s innovative, dual chamber system combines two age-defying formulas into one groundbreaking serum that reactivates skin’s vital functions and promising results in just 4 weeks. I wanted to give this product a really fair shot so I went without makeup and moisturizer during the 30 days (only during my days at home) and let the product really do its thing.

I religiously applied it after washing my face in the morning and at night. One of my favorite things about the double serum is the smell – it’s divine and exactly like you’d expect any Clarins products to smell – rich ! I gave it a couple of days before I started to analyze my skin but I could literally feel it working. My skin immediately felt more plump and softer. Within 2 weeks it was noticeably brighter to the point where I was able to skip my foundation and that’s when I was hooked! After the full 30 days my pores and small fine lines were less noticeable. And it didn’t aggravate my sensitive oily skin which is a HUGE plus for me.

Clarins Double Serum Review

I realize that no amount of makeup or beauty product will ever match natural beauty but there comes a time in life when you need a little help, and Clarins Double Serum definitely does the trick and then some! So glad I tried this out – it has inspired me to keep up my new skin regiment and wear even less makeup.

Don’t forget you still have time to enter Clarins #30DaysofBeautiful challenge.  Just head on over to Instagram, snap a picture of something you find beautiful and tag it with the hashtag for a chance to win your own bottle. ***Ends May 22nd at 11:59 PDT

“Clarins combines two age-defying formulas into one ground breaking serum that firms skin, reduces wrinkles, evens skin tone and minimizes pores. 90% of women find it more effective that their current serum. Proven for all skin types, all ages, and all ethnicities.”
