Hey guys! I’ve been having so much fun playing dress up with Olivia and I thought that since it’s been a while since I last checked in that a cool kids clothes would be perfect! When I first found out that I was having a girl, I immediately started shopping for her. Her closet is filled to the brim with TONS of clothes, accessories and shoes. After having five boys, I definitely went a little crazy and bought her too much of everything. When I was given the opportunity to pick a few items out from Sailor Janes and have a kids fashion giveaway I jumped at the chance! Sailor Janes is an online boutique that carries fresh, current and, to be honest, hard to resist clothing, accessories and even toys for girls and boys!

It was hard not to buy Olivia AND Joseph just about every little thing at Sailor Janes, but I did narrow it down to two things I wanted for Olivia that I have been looking for and couldn’t really find anywhere else: a striped tank top onesie that is super soft and has amazing quality black and a white coffee muslin wrap which may or may not be just as much for me as it is for her.

I was debating on buying her a bunch of these fun Lucky Boy Sunday dolls (see below) but I just had to have that muslin wrap and onesie, they’re so so cute!

One of my favorite gifts to get is perfume, especially when it’s branded by none other than Jennifer Lopez, and that’s exactly what we’re giving away! JLust expresses Jennifer’s sophistication and feminine style, with notes featuring mandarin, apple blossom, mara strawberry, jasmine, white peach, vanilla orchid, feather musk, tolu balm, and tonka bean. It’s has a slight candy scent that makes it sweet, but not overpowering. And, just like all of JLo’s fragrances, it lingers on the skin, which I love!

Outfits Under $50

I’m always on the lookout for a good bargain.  Most of my scores are found at my favorite spots like Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx and Ross but I will shop anywhere at anytime as long as it has the right fit.  Lately I’ve been noticing that a lot of my outfits have been ranging from about $50-$100 so I decided to share my top 5 under $50 and next month $100. To start things off I decided to go with my latest buy a chambray top from Walmart.  I already have a bunch of chambray tops (one with polka dots, one with florals and a thick dark denim one that I sometimes use as a little jacket) so I wasn’t looking to buy more.  However, I walked by the  clearance rack at Walmart and spotted this light weight studded chambray top for $9 and I had to have it.  At $9 it’s got all the right details, a studded collar that I love, tab sleeves and the fabric is light enough to wear all year. Thinking it would be great to wear as a beach cover up… I have lots of plans for it but this time I wanted to pair it up with a mini and my brown sandals.  Not bad for an entire outfit under $50. 🙂

What I’m Wearing:

Chambray Top – $9 at Walmart

Mini Skirt – $7.99 at Ross
Sandals (also seen here) – $24.99 from a local boutique
Necklace – $5 from a Brooklyn boutique wish I could remember the name of the store
Clutch c/o meet mark
Bracelet c/o Twisted SIlver

Sassybax Convert-A-Skirt For Day & Night

February 25, 2016 by

A little black dress is a closet staple but a little black dress that’s also a skirt and minimizes my waist and midriff is just genius!  When I first got the Sassybax Convert-A-Skirt I immediately worried that it was going to be one of those suffocating fabrics – but it’s not.  Sure it’s snug, but just snug enough to slim all the right spots.  The more you play around with it the better it looks and what totally had me hooked was how when I realized that it held up the “little girls” and we all know that’s not an easy task.  I wouldn’t say I would be able to go braless in it BUT any strapless bra would do (unlike other strapless dresses without support where I have to search high and low for maximum support).   I’m obsessed with this dress!  The fabric is a matte black making it super easy to dress up or down.  It stays put which is important for me because I plan on wearing it on the dance floor and it’s machine washable.  I could go son and on!  It’s the perfect dress to pack on any vacation, for a night out on the town or under a blazer for a sexy office look.   For more info on Sassybax’s Convert A Skirt visit www.sassybax.com

The Formula: Denim Jacket

~ The Formula: Denim Jacket ~

Still one of my favorite dresses.

Whenever I want to look pulled together but not too dressy I throw on a denim jacket.  I’ve had this dress from Ross for years and I’ve worn it solo during the summer, with sweaters and tights when it’s cold but my favorite is with denim.  I was originally going to wear my deeper blue Levi’s jacket (seen here) but I thought the distressed one from American Eagle went way better with the boho vibe. Tip:  If you’re lucky enough to get casual Friday’s at work, a denim jacket is an easy replacement for a suit or blazer and you can wear it with any skirt or pants.

What I’m Wearing:

Dress $14.99 from Ross

Distresses Denim Jacket  $39.99 from American Eagle (also seen here)

Crossbody Bag c/o meet mark

Bangles/cuff $12.99 from Macy’s

Penny Wayfarer sunglasses c/o Stunglasses.com

Wedges from Charlotte Russe (also seen here)

Thread Society Giveaway

The first winner is: Feathermaye!

The second winner is: Nicole Vosburgh

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated! 🙂

I dont know about you but theres nothing better than a soft tee with a worn in feel! Its a year round must have in my house and I’m always on the lookout for new lines to try and I was super excited when Thread Society offered to send me Evan and William some pieces to try out and giveaway. Evan and William LOVE their tees and layer them under shirts and even Dylan was excited that the hoodie fit him. I swear I wash it a few times a week he wears it so much! I on the other hand loved my lounge pants. They fit like a glove and are beyond soft and I’ve been wearing them around the house a little more than I’d like to admit.

Thread Society Giveaway

They were such a hit in our house that the boys have asked me to order them some more tees. I was more than happy to buy them since Thread Society donates new apparel for every single online purchase and gives it to homeless children in need of new clothing. You can read more about their Shirt for Shirt program here.

Thread Society has offered to give away the exact same items to two lucky readers! Up for grabs is a mens tee, mens hoodie (both seen above in the pic) and a ladies lounge pants and a dolman sleeve tee. Winner must state which  gender clothing they prefer within the comment section.

To win simply head over to Thread Society and pick your favorite item and then head over here and leave the link in the comment section. For additonal entries you can pin the giveaway, tweet the giveaway or follow fashiongrail on facebook (make sure to say you did in seperate comments).  Giveaway will run from 11/3/2014 until 11/10/2014 , two winners will be chosen and prize will be shipped directly from Thread Society.  ***US residents only.
