You’ve spent all winter under your warm winter jacket, but now the spring has begun if you still wear the same jacket you’ll spend most of the time feeling too hot whenever you have it on, but too cold if you take it off.
It’s time to get it dry cleaned, pack it away and replace it with a spring jacket – one of the most useful items of clothing around for these months when it can be sunny and warm one moment, but change in an instant to a chill breeze that you can’t seem to get escape from.
A spring coat can also be a great way to state your own particular style. There are many different designs and materials available, meaning that you can dress any outfit up or down with a spring jacket.
Available in a rainbow of colours, ranging from neutrals through to neons, the raincoat is a really versatile jacket for springtime. You can be as conservative or as loud as you like through the raincoat you choose to wear; and, of course, it’s an eminently practical way to stay dry when you’re out and about. Lightweight and easy to fold away, a raincoat can see you through most of the year, not just the spring.
Utility coats, such as military-style jackets or motorbike jackets continue to be as popular as ever this spring. They come in a huge variety of styles and can be great for finishing off a wide range of outfits. You can pair them with jeans or a little dress, or even shorts – they go with almost anything. Check out the Superdry Aztec Jacket - an army jacket with additional features like Aztec stitching on the front and back, as well as inside the cuffs.
Most utility jackets come in neutral shades, or greens and greys; add something feminine to your outfit so that you still look girly. Don’t think utility means scruffy – you can find a whole range of styles, from tailored to distressed.
A blazer is an essential item in a girl’s wardrobe. It’s something that can be worn to work but then still look great for a night on the town. If you want to make a blazer feel less formal, you can always opt to layer it with a hoodie to give a casual overall look. Moto jackets are a twist on the classic blazer, and can work as well with a dress as with a pair of jeans.
You can’t go wrong with a trench coat. For a start, they come in a huge range of colours, but for all-round versatility it’s probably best to stick to a neutral tone. The length of a trench coat gives you a streamlined look regardless of what you choose to wear underneath it. It’s perfect for going to work, but can also look great with your weekend jeans and t-shirt.
It won’t be long before the summer heat means we won’t even consider taking a jacket out with us, but until then, it’s best to be prepared with a stylish spring jacket or two in your wardrobe.
Emma Watson’s outfit is the epitome of a chic spring outfit! It’s a must have outfit that’s easy to break down and wear with other pieces for day or night.

The weather is starting to feel what most people would consider a normal summer day but for Floridians its still spring becuase it’s still not inhumanely hot. Most days it’s in the low 80s and a cold front pops up maybe twice a month bringing the weather down to normal spring temps but it doesn’t really matter down here. Once March rolls aorund the daisy dukes come out in full force and the wife beaters are sold by the dozen (I’m not kidding about the wife beaters – I tried to buy my teenager a pack for his MMA class and there was only 2 packs left in white at Target lol). Anyway it doesn’t leave much room for layering but it does give for some fun styling. You can pair a trench with denim shorts, pack a cardigan to the beach or wear your bikini under a linen blazer for a night on the beach. Its a laid back style that you can’t really wear all year round anywhere else.
So the little guy has figured out how to pull my hair. Every time I’m feeding him he grabs a fist full and pulls! I’ve tried a hair clip but they annoy me after 5 minutes and every time I put it in a bun I think of The King of Queens episode with Carrie wearing a bun (see the clip below). So I’m left with a pony tail or a braid. I prefer the latter because my hair is long enough for him to pull on the pony tail if he is in the right position. I’m not the savviest when it comes to braiding my hair so I’ve been searching for the perfect messy braid
I love an outfit that manages to incorporate sweat pants and still be chic like Naya Rivera’s, especially now while I try to lose some weight. Nothing too complicated here just some good ol’ sweats, sleek sneaks and fab accessories. SO easy to duplicate on the cheap and so easy to even give it a sexy makeover by adding some pumps a tanks and a casual blazer Check it out below
Unfortunately I’ve never had the pleasure of attending Coachella but it’s always been a dream and every year I drool over the festival’s free spirited styles & pictures all over the internet. I figure if I can’t go to Coachella I can live vicariously through the pictures and maybe even incorporate a little into some outfits. A girl (or mom) can still dream…..
As a 90′s teen it was all about the backpack and now it’s making a comeback. In fact I still own a fleece plaid backpack from the Gap, a brown leather backpack from Benetton and my favorite from Frye – it’s perfectly worn in and cost me two paychecks from working at Macy’s back in the day. It’s a trend that could not have come at a better time now that I’m a new mom (click here to read about my new addition) again a backpack is a great alternative to a baby bag. Check out some inspirational pics featuring a backpack and some affordable ones to shop as well.
I’ve always loved wearing heels but after going 9 months without wearing them they’ve become more of a obsession. This season I’m all about statement heels that can take a casual outfit and give it a little oomph. Last time I featured Khloe Kardashian wearing a henley and jeans with sexy animal print heels and this time its Victoria Beckhman. Love how simple her outfit is and the wow factor of the red heels…perfection!!! Great way for a busy mom to incorporate something sexy without too much thought.
Reese Witherspoon’s outfit has a certain easy breezy feel that’s perfect for spring! I love the freshness the white blazer and white heels give the jeans. Great outfit to wear right from day to night and easy to find affordable pieces to replicate the look. Get Reese’s Look for less with pieces from H&M, Target & more!
I love me a big bold necklace, but for this spring the accessory to have is bold gold earrings! So throw you hair into a messy bun and rock a pair of oversized earrings and finish off your look with a bold lip color. Below are some of my favorites under $50.
