Sarah Jessica Parker’s outfit has all of the fall elements that I love: a cozy fair isle sweater, blazer, colored skinnies and booties (I can do without the sunglasses though, it totally contradicts the outfit!). It’s a stylish, laid back look that is perfectly effortless!  BTW how fabulous are the studded boots I found at JCPenney?!

Blondes Make Better T-Shirts

I’m a sucker for a comfy, cute tee! So when I was asked if I wanted to try out a new line of eco-friendly tees I jumped at it!  Blondes Make Better T-Shirts is a new fave of mine and I absolutely fell in love with the fun and whimsical designs that are perfectly imperfect (like red lipstick on the collar or an upside down collar). Made from 100% sustainable, sweatshop-free and ethically responsible fabrics, the T-shirts retail between  $48.00 to $85.00. I paired my Blondes Make Better T-shirt with green cargo skinnies, but it could just as easily be worn with a skirt and heels for a fun evening look!  Great gift for the holiday’s whether you’re a blonde or not! Outta My Bag: Neon Pink Dress

As the weather starts to cool down so do the prices in stores, and it’s one of my favorite times to hit the clearance racks. Here in Florida the weather doesn’t really change that much, so fall clearance items like shorts and dresses are total scores!  I found this neon pink dress at Charlotte Russe for only $6.99 and I immediately knew of three different ways I could wear it. My first choice was to pair the dress with a distressed denim jacket, simple black heels and a  animal print belt.  What would you wear a neon pink dress with?

What I’m Wearing:

Neon Pink Dress – $6.99 at Charlotte Russe

Denim Jacket – $39.99 at American Eagle (also seen here)

Animal Print Belt c/o Kohl’s

Shoes $70 at Yesstyle

Compass Necklace c/o Twisted Silver (also seen here)

Studded Clutch c/o Yesstyle (also seen here)

Bracelets – $8.80 at Forever21.com

Crossbody bags have always been a favorite of mine.  They’re the functional yet chic take-anywhere bag that can be used in so many different ways. For bigger bags, I’ve seen them used as a stylish substitute for diaper bags and during the summer as beach bags carrying bikini’s and after-the-beach wear for those still on the go.  And there’s always the smaller, trendier versions that are to me very much like a wallet on the go – no fuss just all style!!  Check out some of my faves from Yeswalker for under $50 below.

Quilted Crossbody Bag – $34.20

Vintage Crossbody Camera Bag – $24.50

Polka Dot Crossbody Bag – $24

Braided Buckle Crossbody Bag – $22.50

Fringed Crossbody Bag – $20

Target Style Series: How to Layer Your Look

October 22, 2012 by
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds

When temps start to drop, it’s all about the layering to me – It’s such a simple yet fabulous way to add depth and character to ANYTHING!  The key to layering is keeping the look effortless yet polished while always shooting for the lightest fabric possible to avoid looking bulky. Below are some of my favorite tricks for layering:

Lace Dress – $24.99 | Plaid Blouse – $17.99 | Hooded jacket – $17.48 | Leggings – $8 | Merona Ballerina Flats – $19.99 | Glitter Belt – $12.99

Vest, scarves, leggings and short dresses that can be belted and used as tunics are my personal must-haves for layering.

Suede Top – $16.99 | Polo – $13 | Bomber Jacket – $39.99 | Merona Tailored Ankle Pants – $27.99 | | Merona Moccasin – $24.99 | Merona Satchel – $29.99 | Houndstooth Scarf – $9

If you’re layering a bulkier peice let it be the one that goes on last, like the jacket pictured here.

Striped Henley – $12 | Long Lean Tank – $6 | Denim Vest – $27.99 | Leggings – $8 | Boots – $34.99 | Satchel – $29.99

The longest peice always goes under the layer. Tanks (especially striped ones), polos and tees are the best choice.

The idea is to have fun and not put too much thought into layered looks.  See how the Target Fall Collection is designed to take you through a season of stylish looks at Target.com/Merona.

Winter Fashion: Keep Warm and Look Cool

October 17, 2012 by
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds

While most people dread the cold winter months, it’s one of my favorite seasons to accessorize. Scarves, gloves, hats, jackets, boots and cardigans are comfy, functional and add a new dimension to everyday outfits. I like to play around with what I have in my closet and the new trends this year are so inspiring.

Definitely Add Color!

This year’s most striking color for me is saffron. It seems to be everywhere. And celebrities like Taylor Swift wear it beautifully! Her saffron cardigan combines beautifully with blue jeans and red pullover and the warm color worn in winter lets a chilly mood turn to happiness.
No matter which color you prefer, make sure let them shine in your winter outfits this season. Besides saffron, strong hues of green and red are popular this year. If you can’t find the perfectly matching color in a local shop, the internet has tons of options (I’m a big fan of Paypal particularly when I am purchasing items overseas) If you click here you will learn how to use such an account – even via your mobile phone.

Warm Stylish Shoes

The cooler weather requires leaving sandals behind but cozy boots will make up for that. Thanks to the fashionable tight cut of trousers, and the woolen knee-long skirts, these bear paw boots are perfect and handy at the same time. In that way, one maintains a high level of flexibility when it comes to fashion and shoe combinations. Plus, it is easy to slip into these boots at any time, without the necessity of lacing them.

Military Inspired Looks For Boys & Girls

October 17, 2012 by
Filed under Fashion Tips & Finds

Watching out for fall fashion trends 2012, one notices a tendency to return to rougher designs and practical outfits for both men and women. Warm boots, casual jeans, and even anoraks have become fashionable again. These developments also empower the return of the military style, which emerges mainly through camouflage patterns, navy cuts and military watches to complete your outfit. The positive thing about that look is, it can be worn by both sexes. Here are some tips on how to weave the military look into your own style without making it look too rebellious.

Military Feel For Girls:

For young women who usually want to leave an elegant impression behind, the military look does not have to be taboo. In fact, the combination of elegant cuts of the military can enhance one’s own personal style by simultaneously adding a whiff of decency and vigor. But for those who wish to start slowly, there is always the option of embellishing the feminine grace through accessories like scarves with military emblems, a camouflaged bag or military-inspired watches. In that way, every girl is always ready to change the outfit if necessary.

For Boys – Between soldier & James Bond:

The utter coolness of the military style underlines the masculinity of every young man. By wearing stylish shirts with army decors or jackets in greenish colors, every boy can live the dream of being an energetic hero. And for the more laid-back type, there is always the option of creating an air of coolness through a double-breasted suit reminiscent of the empire days. Young men can move like James Bond watching out for their Bond girl while ruling the world on the side.

All In The Attitude:
No matter how much military style there is in your outfit and no matter if you are boy or girl, you have to wear it with the right attitude. Take your shoulders back, look up and walk self-confidently through the streets. After all, this attitude should be part of every style you’re wearing, but the military look can make it even more visible.
