Urban Wear for Women

As we near autumn and eventually winter it is important for the city girl to wrap up warm when travelling around town.  We all know that the weather can be unpredictable and having the right attire to protect you from the cold winter streets is important for any girl who wants to reach the office with their makeup and outfit intact. By introducing outdoor wear to your wardrobe you will have something both practical and stylishly urban.

The Forefront of Urban and Outdoor Fashion Crossover

You may be asking yourself where which brands of outdoor clothing are on trend this winter for the urban girl? You should however be asking yourself where can I buy Northface? Northface has been a popular garment of the Hip Hop scene since the 90’s and is still going strong. For those of you wanting to add a bit of urban street credibility to your daily outfit a Northface could be that all important addition to your wardrobe.

Weekend in the Country

Of course a Northface jacket can have multiple purposes for the city girl. For those precious weekends when you’re not working overtime in the office, shopping or chasing the kids around a well deserved weekend in the countryside may be in order. This is where the Northface jacket has a dual purpose because it will not only make you look stylish on the streets of the city, but also add a stylish aspect to your countryside look.

Weekends at the Beach

Escaping to the beach can be another great way to take your mind off work and city life.  Whilst at the beach you may want to pursue some of your weekend hobbies such as surfing or alternatively just catch some sun depending where in the world you are or what season it is. Whichever activity you choose you can be sure that Extreme Pie will be able to kit you out with some of the most stylish beachwear.

Outdoor Hobbies in the City

It is also possible not to have to leave the city in order to take part in outdoor activities. This has been made possible with indoor ski slopes and climbing centres. Even though you haven’t left town to pursue these hobbies it is still important to wear the correct gear and look fashionable at the same time. You can find an excellent rage of extreme sports clothing at online stores such as Blackleaf and Extreme Pie. These stores hold many of the most desirable and on trend brands which can be delivered to your door when ordered over the internet.

Peplum & Purple From Marshall’s

Happiness is walking into a store at the last minute before going out and finding exactly what you’re looking for…and that’s exactly what happened Saturday night.  I frantically walked into Marshall’s looking for a peplum top and not only did I find it, but the details were perfect: The zipper down the back was amazing and the slighty puffed shoulder on the lace three quarter length sleeves was beyond cute. Best of all it was only $19.99!  The peplum top is super flattering and I’m sure I can wear it with a few different outfits.   This time I paired it with a simple purple skirt and Vince Camuto heels that I got at Dillards on sale, my entire outfit (excluding the bag and jewelry) was under $60!  FYI I always carry a tote with me and this particular gold one from meet mark is my current favorite for carrying essentials like flats, makeup etc. for evenings.

What I’m Wearing:

Peplum top $19.99 at Marshall’s, skirt $7.99 at Marshall’s, Vince Camuto heels $30 at Dillard’s (sold out similar version here), the always perfect tote $38 c/o meetmark.com, arrow bracelets  from Forever21 (sold out similar one here) and the gurl white bracelet c/o Twisted Silver , sunglasses c/o Stunglasses.com (also seen here)

NYFW Cellphone Frustrations

September 25, 2012 by

As a blogger my cell phone is my lifeline to the world when away from my laptop.  Whether for tweeting, Instagram, or Facebook (to name a few) it’s a crucial part of my business.  When wireless reception is quick, life is good. When it lags, it’s always at the worst time!  A few weeks ago while at NYFW I wanted to share pictures and tweets from Glamour’s Live With Diet Coke party .  Connectivity was so bad that I had to snap a picture and then go outside to post it (and live tweeting was out of the question).

The point is, it’s frustrating moments like this when you realize how important a good wireless provider is not only in today’s fast-paced, real-time business world, but in your personal life as well.

She’s back!  Last time Amy Goodman (author of “Wear This Toss That”) gave us tips on how to dress an althetic figure… this time she’s dishing out tips on how to dress for a plus-size figure in this Timex short web video.  In this segment they’ve included the sleek and sporty Timex Chronograph (valued at $95) for an easy way to accessorize an outfit and you too can win the exact same watch featured in the video!

Dressing for Your Body Type: Plus Size Figure from Timex Style on Vimeo.

I’m a die hard fan of Timex and I don’t believe you can go wrong with any style, but this particular one is a favorite – it has a masculine feel but the touches of gold keep it chic.

It really is one of those watches that can stand alone without any other accessories, and you can wear it with just about anything.

How to Enter:

Leave a comment on Fashiongrail telling us if you’d wear the Timex Chronograph for work, play or everyday.  For  additional entries, tweet about the giveaway, like Fashiongrail on Facebook (make sure to mention you did any of the above in separate comments on Fashiongrail).  One winner will be picked on October 1, 2012. U.S. residents only.  Good luck!

Pencil skirts have this classic-yet-sexy Audrey Hepburn vibe that never goes out of style – and if not already, should be a staple in your closet.  They’re easily worn from day to night and with affordable picks like the ones by Merona from Target the options are endless!! Contrary to popular belief, the pencil skirt is actually universally flattering with a cut that looks long and lean on any  shape (with the right pieces).  I’m curvy in the middle, so I need my tops to fall right at the hips.  Check out my selections below!

Pullover Sweater – $19.99 | Denim Shirt – $19.99 | Pencil Skirt – $20 | Clutch – $17.99

On the weekends, pair a bright colored pencil skirt (like the orange one below) with a denim jacket, a pullover sweater (which is perfect for layering and mixing in with other fall basic like chinos and cords) and flats for a casual chic look.

Blouse – $18 | Pencil Skirt – $20  | Skinny Belt  – $12.99 | Loafers – $32.99 | Tote – $32.99

For a trendy office look, the animal print skirt, a pretty orange blouse for a pop of color, a belt to accentuate your waist and wrap up your look with classic loafers.

Denim Jacket – $24.99 | Pencil Skirt – $20  | Shell Sweater – $19.99 | Heels – $23.99 | Necklace – $12.99 | Clutch – $24.99

For night, try pairing some basics with a pair of sexy animal print heels and a bold necklace .
